This small-group tour will give you an introduction to the city accompanied by a jovial medieval knight to guide you. The walking tour will be appropriate for all ages. After meeting your knight guide at Kilkenny Castle, you’ll receive a brief introduction and safety chat before learning a bit about the area’s history at the back of the building. On High Street, you'll have a talk about what it may have looked like and been like during medieval times. There will be a stop to discuss the city’s medieval walls and their role. You’ll also see the small park around the tower and gain insight into the armour and weapons used by medieval knights. At the gates of Kilkenny Castle, you’ll finish your tour by hearing about its role in the city.
