Even though we had a week we missed certain spots we wanted to visit but what we saw would bring us back ! We ate mostly at the house and the local supermarket in cresslough was fantastic! Everything you need and more , prices reasonable too. We ate at downings bay hotel for my brother in law’s birthday and it was a great meal. We organised a local mini bus to collect us and bring us home and it was a great price too.

There is nothing to do in Carrickart as such but it could be used as a base to explore the area. Drive to the Glenveah National Park - 22 minutes. Drive to the Fanad lighthouse, 20 minutes, the beach at Downings, 10 minutes, Harry Blaney bridge, 7 minutes and so on. The village has the ubiquitous take away (Mac's) run by a father and son (made me a mean fish and chips), a couple of sit down restaurants and a decent size Centra (with an ATM). There is also a gift shop which makes the place more interesting; one can spend time browsing and making conversation with the lovely Scottish lady!

I liked absolutely everything about the property. it was clean, modern and had every possible amenity that you could possibly require, even a heat log in the fire (ready to light) - a real home from home. The resort is set in beautiful surroundings and is tranquil and idyllic. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Boardwalk Resort to anyone, particularly those with young children, as I feel it would be very safe for them and they would love the play area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking a return visit.

Ray was a great host! Very communicative and helpful. We were able to park right out front and enter the room without a problem. It is a good sized apartment and a bit quirky (seems like you are on display like a storefront and the bathroom, which is quite large, is down the hall) but works fine and we find character to the quirky :). The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed and market and restaurants are next door. A great stop overnight.

Perfect location right in the village near shops, restaurants, walks, seashore. Loved the view of Horn Head from the bedroom and the quaintness of an older property with some original features yet thoroughly modern facilities including power shower and well equipped kitchen, comfortable spacious bedroom and very efficient heating system for cooler evenings. Very friendly and hospitable host who provided welcoming wine and even milk in the fridge.

Had a fantastic time. The house was spotless and cozy. Heating was on for our arrival it was so lovely to walk into a warm house as it was bitter outside. Fantastic location to the boardwalk and beach, short drive into Carrigart and surrounding towns. We got a pet friendly house and were able to bring along our cat. Stress free booking and stay. Highly recommend. The hosts were only a text away the whole time to answer any questions.

Location was great for everything but parked car over in hotel car park (which is just across the street)as house is very close to road side, we were afraid of car getting damaged. Great tv and wifi with loads of games etc for kids. Warm clean house and stove made it very cosy. So close to downings and broad walk beaches also! Host was very informative and helpful with all of the stay.

Beautiful rooms, very tastefully decorated and appointed. Good communication from hotel before arrival regarding access to my room. Convenient safe place to leave my bike within the accommodation as I was on a cycling holiday. Also highlight of my whole holiday was the meal at the adjoining Olde Glen Bar & Restaurant which was exceptional.

The Blue Door was a very clean and comfy apartment in the centre of Carrigart. Host Ray welcomed us to the apartment even though we arrived late and showed us through and explained the workings of all fixtures. H3 also enquired as to our needs during the stay. I would recommend this apartment to ant visitor to Carrigart.2#

This is a very neat, clean and well equipped apartment right in the center of Carrigart. Very comfortable for two people, quiet and with a beautiful view from the bedroom window. The Mews is a great base for discovering the local area, the apartment is clean, comfortable and dog friendly, ideal for self catering. The town is small but has everything ya need, including a great beer garden at the hotel - dog friendly again! And the meat beach is just a couple of min drive away.
