A stunningly beautiful place but be prepared for the late check in time of 4pm. I’m my opinion this is a forced measure so you book the additional night knowing well that if you’re attending a wedding party you’re left with very little choice.
I cannot fault the hotel and the staff and super friendly however management should reconsider options for check in times

I like Thomastown but because of Covid very few places to eat. I was there earlier and choice of restaurants much better. We were there Monday to Wednesday and most evening places didn't open until We'd to Sunday and that was also in Inistioge. We found a place in St Mullins opened til 8 so that was good. It is a very interesting area much to explore , Graugnamanagh beautiful .

Thomastown has lovely walks to offer by the river and surrounding areas. Stayed in Ballyduff House and it’s a hidden gem! Dined in Barrows Keep Restaurant and it has to be recommended, friendly service, fabulous food, busy place but very pleasant atmosphere 😊 We also visited Tim’s Bar and were served good bar food, very reasonably priced, by very friendly staff and they serve a good pint of Guinness too! Jerpoint Abbey is close by and it’s a very interesting historical site. Woodstock is close by and well worth a visit too.

It's a nice size town with enough facilities such as supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, newsagent and gift shops. It also has it's fair share of historic spots in or very close to the town. It's definitely a good base to explore Kilkenny and Carlow especially if even Kilkenny city is too urban for you.

Thomastown has been occupied for 800 years and the evidence is all about, abandoned stone buildings, a nearby Abbey, abandoned or converted mills and a beautiful stone bridge arching over the River Nore. A few good places to eat.
Ballyduff House is a charming 18th century house just outside Thomastown. The room was spotless and spacious with spectacular sash windows all around it with the most comfortable bed. The hotel is situated on acres of parkland with beautiful walks around the River Nore. We had the full Irish Breakfast which was plenty of food, croissant and bottomless freshly brewed coffee. This property exceeded my expectations and will happily stay there again ! Thank you Breda for your generous hospitality.
Thomastown is the quinatessial Irish countryside town. The TowerHouse B&B was prefect with it's stone facade and location right off the river. Our host and fellow travelers were friendly. The views spectacluar. After unpacking, we hopped a few of the local pubs. Breakfast was special in a sunroom overlooking the river. I would have love to have stayed longer but we had to rush off to catch a tee time.
Excellent apartment. A home from home with superb facilities and everything spotless & in perfect condition. Large Bed so comfortable. Micheal & Sheila are exceptional hosts, went above and beyond for us. Collected us from wedding at Mountain View.
So welcoming and friendly. Apartment a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Thomastown & 10 minutes from Mt. Juliet. A must stay if you are in this area.
The Ballyduff House is a fantastic spot to slip back in time to get a feel of how life was like living in a grand manor house. It is beautiful and quintessential and reflects everything one could ever imagine of Ireland. You are treated with such care and consideration by its host, who is charming, witty, and so very warm and welcoming. An absolute delightful stay! Hoping to return again soon.
The staff. From reception, the bar, the restaurant, cleaning - everyone. They were kind, courteous, and went over and above to help where they could. This makes a huge difference especially when travelling with a baby. Thank you.
The hotel is spotless. The food delicious in both the restaurant and clubhouse. The grounds are meticulously presented. Its a really lovely place to stay
Outstandingly spacious and comfortable accommodation. The hosts couldn't have been more thoughtful and kinder, providing useful travel advice from the moment we had booked. Situated on the edge of Thomastown, it is an easy walk into the town where there are excellent bars as well as to good supermarkets for stocking up with essentials for self-catering. Thoroughly recommend.
It is a beautiful gracious old Georgian House with the river Nore just outside. You are very close to Kilkenny. Our hostess Breed was outstanding and the morning full Irish breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We want to come back both for the experience of a lovely house in the country & to chat more with Breed. We highly recommend.
Lovely place to stay. Old historic building yet modern bedrooms. Everything you would need in the bedroom. Like a hotel. Yummy breakfast cooked to order. Delicious coffee. Very accommodating to our party one of whom had severe food allergies. Would go out of my way to stay there if in the area. Highly recommend.
Had a super stay at Viewmount recently. Great welcome, comfortable beds and excellent communication throughout. Good location just outside Thomastown. Big thanks to the B&B who called to let us know that we had forgotten our iPad after check out (oops!!)
It’s right in the centre of Thomastown. It has a nice view over the river. It’s a lovely building- a refurbished tower house with a new bedroom wing forming a quiet courtyard. The bedrooms are nice and quiet and the breakfast is great.
the location was fabulous. very close to Kilkenny, and great pubs and dining within walking distance. the rooms were perfect with heated blankets and breakfast was awesome!!
