A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.
Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.
Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.
As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin is not the best city I have been to, but it has its charm. Irish people are just wonderful, kind and warm!! Dublin concerning prices is not the cheapest. Beer/wine or other alcoholic drinks are extremely expensive comparing to other EU countries with Euro prices. Weather is also not the greatest there, but we had luck and sun for 3 days with wind and rain :) Clothes are not expensive, normal prices and nice brands. Supermarket prices also not the lowest. Worth to see an old cemetery and archaeological musem (Free entrance). Worth for sure to go by train to Howth, if you like the nature you will be amazed. We did 12 km tour and it is memorable! So I do recomend Dublin, but do not expect too much.

Most striking for me is the combination of old and new.
Most striking for me is the combination of old and new. Most of the buildings, in most parts of Dublin, are old, but well maintained and create a whole very nice view. But a few new buildings appeared, still in line with the old ones, which creates even nicer views. There are lot of places to visit, from all area of interest: historical, cultural, entertainment etc. These visits are easily accessible with the help of the multitude of punctual buses.
Most people are friendly and the multitude of ethnics around creates an interesting experience.
An very unpleasant aspect is that the streets are quite dirty, filled with litter and garbage and also a lot of beggars and homeless people.

A visit to the Guinness Storehouse is a must to find out about the history, the brewing process and, especially if you enjoy drinking it. My favourite place to visit however was the Rock & Roll museum. Our tour guide Glenn was enthusiastic and informative. He and another tour member put on an impromptu gig for us, it was brilliant. There are so many places to eat and portion sizes very generous. We ate at 1900 Restaurant on Harcourt Street, Hard Rock Cafe, Harkins Bar & Bistro and a gem of a find was the Bleeding Horse pub. There was plenty of transport, either bus or trams to get around or most things were accessible by foot. We're looking forward to planning a return visit to take in all the things we missed 1st time round.

Definitely a nice city to be in for like 2 days, not more.
Definitely a nice city to be in for like 2 days, not more. The weather really made my experience less enjoyable, the food is very expensive, and there is not much to see. Other than that, I had an amazing time. It's not a city to travel solo in, so go with company! The culture and people are super nice and the pubs are so fun :)

A great city for those who love nightlife and a good pint of beer. The temple bar district is very nice, but also don't let to explore outside the town. Ireland has beautiful cliffs and landscapes to offer.
This hotel is in the centre of Dublin, so they provide earplugs as it can be noisy. It's a great location, right in the city centre near pubs, shops and restrauants. It was a little challenging to find as its in a laneway. The staff were great, the hotel also provides free fruit (always appreciated) and water. Room was clean with the basic necessities only, bed, ensuite, chair and hangers. It wasn't too noisy when the window was closed.
We stayed at The Wilder at the beginning and end of our tour of Ireland. On both occasions it was just a delight. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was to-die-for, and the room, though small, was very comfortable. The hotel really felt like home-away-from-home. It's located in a lovely residential neighborhood, near the Grand Canal, and within walking distance (or tram) to Grafton St, Temple Bar, etc.
The rooms were very cosy, large and clean, with a large and comfortable bed (my expectations were exceeded as I was comparing to hotel stays in England). The staff were kind and polite. About a 25 minute walk from Dublin city centre, which was sometimes a long distance if you were walking around all day, but it was in a quiet and pleasant location and the price was much better than all the other hotels we looked at.
Bed - it was perfect matress (not too soft and worn) and I like the size of it even if I booked for just one person
Location - as a former resident of Rathmines I feel at home in the area+ it's close to both city centre, Ranelagh, Terenure and Rathgar.
Room - spacious & very, very comfy 😊 always clean and well kept hotel
Staff - they are sweet, helpful, friendly - just like you expect from a hotel in Ireland
The Schoolhouse is a boutique hotel not too far from Dublin city centre. It's a great location. Inside it is full of charm and the bedrooms are big and comfortable. The staff are great - very helpful & friendly. We ate in the Gastro Bar before heading out for the evening and the food was really good...and whilst expensive, it wasn't a rip off. To finish the evening of we had 2 excellently made Mojitos.
Great hotel super location. We booked last minute as we needed to stay in the Dublin we only live in Wicklow. On site parking is excellent and a rarity in the city centre. The rooms have been beautifully renovated and the beds are huge (super king), very comfortable. It’s a lovely quaint hotel in a fab location. I would recommend and certainly stay again.
Pretty much everything! Our room was very comfortable and well-appointed. We were happy that the hotel had air conditioning, not every hotel in Ireland does. Pleasantly surprised by there being an American outlet, as well as a European outlet, in the room--both were useful in charging our electronics. We ate dinner at the lounge, the food was great!
The hotel is very nice looking, on a traditional property. Our room was modern and very quiet, bed was comfortable and we had a very relaxing time at Pembroke Hall.
Though the hotel is on a quiet street, there are grocery stores, restaurants and pubs at very short walking distance. Most Dublin attractions and the city centre are a 20-30min walk away.
Great location from Dublin City Center, only about an 8-10 minute walk. Breakfast was great, and staff was very friendly.
When we arrived to the hotel, they had originally mentioned that our room may not be ready since check in is usually 3pm and are flight was a morning flight, though when we arrived early they gave us a upgraded room with a view!
The place is very clean and modern, nice gated area, near the tram and bus stops. It takes about 10 minutes to get into Dublin center by tram and one can buy the tickets in the vending machine at the top of the station. Walking to the city centre is about 20 minutes. Large supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi) 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Very close to Dublin City centre . Room was available for early check in. Close to grocery stores, coffee shops, shopping, hop on hop off bus. Very clean throughout hotel . Nice size bedroom and Living room/kitchen . Staff very personable . Breakfast for a charge(€) was good value and lots of choices
Location. Rest all good but in case of emergencies we must have backup. I'm sorry to say no where in the world I have ever seen hotel electricity and water went away for whole night and day. I think it's a joke in Ireland that things that happen in our household is happening in hotels infrastructure.
Location is absolutely great, the hotel is placed next to the famous and fabulous pub with the same name, very near to the city centre and literally two steps from all the other nice places in Dublin. The room was very clean and quiet and the staff was extremely helpful and kind.
Lovely hotel situated a good 30 minutes walk away from Dublin city centre. Very nice rooms, albeit a little small, but clean and with high-quality furnishing.
Staff was friendly and courteous and coffee and water was available in the lobby at any time for free.
Staycity Aparthotels Dublin City Centre was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were walking distance to Temple Bar area and other attractions in the city. Bonus was having a on site self serve laundry to do our washing.
The hotel is very well located, just a 5 min walk from the most popular parts of the city centre - bars, restaurants, shopping areas, Dublin castle etc.
The hotel is also very new, so everything looked modern, sharp, clean, well presented.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to leave our suitcase in the hotel while visiting city centre. This was cheapest hotel out of all options for Dublin but about 20 min by bus from the city centre.
The staff at this Clayton hotel are brilliant and they will go out of thier way to make you feel at home. I really enjoy my visits home to Ireland and my stays at this particular hotel.
