Downtown Bantry has many places of interest and is typical of an Irish village. Every Friday there is a market on the main square. It has all the amenities a person needs. A number of good pubs and restaurants. The food at the Brick Oven is really good. Very friendly people. The Connection has all the high-tech equipment a traveler might need.

I liked that we were in a rural area but close to everything. We enjoyed horseback riding, hiking on Sheep's Head, the pubs, restaurants, and shopping. There was an excellent Italian restaurant with great pizza. The butcher was excellent, and we enjoyed shopping at SuperValu.

Such a beautiful town and area.
Such a beautiful town and area. A compact town centre with amazing views of Bantry Bay and the Wild Atlantic Way.
Spoilt by all the food and drinking venues.
Bantry House well worth a visit.
West Lodge and the Maritime are both great hotels... Good for popping in for lunch or just a drink: very friendly.

Bantry is an excellent base for exploring West Cork and beyond. It remains a traditional old-style rural town full of shops and pubs, locally named. Not very touristy. There's a sense of Irish history about it. It has a a very good Tourist Office and a fine new main square. A very good day to be there is a Friday, market day...excellent for every kind of locally made & grown produce. Bantry grows on you, especially the natural friendly warmth of its people. So, stay a while.

Huge selection for breakfast all very good quality and efficient service.
Our hostess took time to advise us on things to do in the area with full details and instructions - that was really helpful.
I loved the 'country house' feel while still modern enough to be spotlessly clean and warm and comfortable.
Excellent view over the bay.
Good location for travelling.
Voilá...3 very happy customers !!
We had a great and lovely stay at Josephine's and Barry's house! The room was spacious, well-equipped and offered an amazing view over Bantry Bay! We loved all the little design elements in the house. Barry was a great host and gave us great advice for local restaurants and places to visit! We will definitely come here again when we visit Ireland once more!
We did not stay at the Sea View Holiday Home. We were contacted a few days before we were expected to stay and notified of a leak, and we would not be able to stay there. We were offered an alternative property, which was stunning and closer to town, although smaller and with one less bedroom. It all worked out, and we had an enjoyable time.
We stayed in the Bantry Bay for one night and it was a great stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful, while both our dinner and breakfast were fabulous. I would highly recommend anyone even passing by to stop there for food!
Only negative was the shower was scalding hot and could not be lowered, uncomfortable during a heatwave!
Angela and her family are very kind and very helpful. I really appreciated the warm welcome.
The house is lovely, I enjoyed the living room and the kitchen downstairs.
The location in Bantry is great. The village is charming and we can find everything we need.
I recommend.
Fantastic views of Bantry Bay and the surrounding wildlife. Siobhan was so helpful with suggestions on places to eat and even driving into town to collect us when we had forgotten our bank card!! Fantastic breakfast the next morning!
Lovely location nice walk to the shore very close to bantry and glengarriff too. We had free WiFi which was an added bonus that we didn’t expect when booking. Mary the supervisor was really helpful and friendly person to deal with.
The breakfast was a very likeable self service affair the service and welcome were extraordinary. The location was perfect. We will always remember watching the sun set over zBantry Bay on our first evening.
Our family room was spacious, with a table and even balcony, which opened out to a beautiful view. The host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb--the best we had in our 2 weeks in Ireland!
The room was large and full of light overlooking a beautiful garden, it was quiet and had comfortable chairs and a writing desk at a huge bay window. Good choice for breakfast and the marmalade delicious
Friendly host who helped us with parking to avoid the street market. Well located, being a short walk from the pubs and restaurants but far enough away to miss the noise. Lovely view over the bay.
Breakfast was excellent. Josephine couldn’t have been kinder or friendlier. House was spotless and so quiet. Lovely views over Bantry Bay and just a few minutes drive from town.
The breakfast was SUPERB and the house was a quaint little house near the beach just outside of Bantry. Very relaxing, you couldn’t ask for a more relaxing and enjoyable place.
Hotel spotless, swimming pool lovely, staff very friendly especially in Hannies restaurant and leisure centre. Overall enjoyed our stay and blessed with beautiful weather.
