Local businesses lacked the customer service mentality that seems prevalent throughout Ireland. Very few dining options, most of them full. Cobh is a small town easily covered in an afternoon, and nothing about the local populace invites much engagement. It was a drab experience overall.

Cobh is delightful, quite small but with many things to do mainly concerned with history of the town. It is associated with the Titanic, but amazingly the infrastructure for the big liners is still there: the White Star Line and Cunard offices are still there as is the train station which brought so many travellers to the town. There are plenty of good restaurants in the town and the town is very easy to get around. The only problem is the hilliness of the town. Also Cork city is very close by.

A picturesque little spot set on a steep hill. Beautiful views, fantastic cathedral, interesting Titanic Experience museum. Trips out to Spike Island although we didn’t have time to visit. Easy distance for Cork City and Blarney Castle which are both recommended.

I didn't realize that Cobh was so small and booked two nights there. In hindsight I should have just made it a day trip from Cork. I visited the Titanic Experience which was very informative. It is only about 45 minutes long so I recommend checking it out. There is a completely gluten free cafe there called Hoban's Treats, which was great for me as I am celiac. However, my kids also enjoyed their cake and cookies. I was only let down by two things. The boat trips to Spike island stop at around 2pm and I wasn't aware of that. Also, a number of restaurants were closed even though their sites and Google had them as open. It was difficult to find a place to have dinner that could cater for my dietary requirements.

What a spot. The most beautiful town, with a strong history.
What a spot. The most beautiful town, with a strong history. Locals are great people and the pubs a joy. The standard of music and musician's on show I can only put on a par with the city of Liverpool.
Cobh is a jewel in Irelands crown
Absolutely pleasure and unforgettable experience staying in this fabulous Victorian mansion. The spacious en-suite has an amazing view of Cobh harbour and is super clean. Quick and sufficient hot water in the bathroom. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, they helped us book a nice dinner and gave nice recommendations for things to do in town. Delicious breakfast with plenty of options and fresh juice, fruits and yogurt. This is so far my most pleasant stay in Ireland also world widely, would definitely recommend!!
The owner was very nice and the site is perfect. That is the good part. The room was on the 4th floor and the elevator is not reliable so lots of stairs ( my wife and I are 76 years old). There is no breakfast although some croissants were provided with jam. The only free parking is uphill 1/4 mile away on street. The room was quite small by American standards. In short this is a place for the young and adventurous. We really did like the owner and just feel that this "hotel" is a work in progress.
The bedrooms were enormous and immaculate. The house, whilst huge, retains a warm and homely atmosphere. The host was delightful, warm and welcoming, helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to to make us feel at home and even bought me some bread mix to take home as I loved her daily freshly baked bread so much! The location was perfect to discover this beautiful and historic part of Ireland. Would happily recommend to anyone visiting cobh.
We had both a continental and full breakfast choice. The continental offerings were more than adequate; smoked fish, meats, cheese, fruit, cereal. My wife had eggs which were cooked to order.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is a few minutes from downtown Cobh.
The property is tightly packed with narrow views of the harbor. The BB is in a converted rectory which still shows in various rooms.
Bella Vista Hotel & Self Catering Suites Staff were all professional, warm & hospitable making my stay memorable.

We got only a complimentary breakfast , muffins , juice and fruits . But the location was great , we are just in the centre of Cobh , everything is reachable and handy , the tourist spots , the train station , the Cobh museum and the St. Colman’s Cathedral it’s just few minutes walk from the hotel . So we have a great holiday and the kids enjoyed it .
At first we didn’t really prepare for being part of someone else’s home, and to be treated so well. The hosts are fantastic, made us feel very very welcome, a totally different and wonderful experience from any other b+b or hotel we have stayed in Ireland. View of the bay was wonderful, and the breakfast (with surprise twist) was also wonderful.
Everything was amazing… Marie and Joe are such welcoming hosts! Great suggestions for day trips, making sure we were comfortable, and just generally making us feel at home. The home has been meticulously restored and it is just beautiful. We had a room with a view of the harbor and it was a rare sunny day in Cobh!
The property was clean, comfortable and well presented with everything we needed. It was easy to find and is in a great location for exploring Cobh on foot and the wider area by car. Adrian was very accommodaring and quick to answer to our requests and communicated well throughout.
The property is located along the water with stunning views across the bay. The staff were friendly and rooms where clean and comfortable. Cobh is beautiful place to stay and the hotel is located in a convenient location to walk around and see all the historic facts about the town.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, it is an outstanding value for the class and location. The views over the water were lovely and the rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was nice and its close to all the beautiful scenery in Cobh.
Lovely old style hotel with lots of history. Situated on the seafront central to everything in the town. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order. There is lots to do in Cobh one day is not long enough.
Hotel was so convenient to train station Cobh is full of history enjoyed this immensely loved the cruise ships coming and going could see them from our bedroom window lots of tourists easy to get to cork city
Pam was an absolute delight! We had a blast talking to her. The rooms were very comfortable, the views scenic, and the breakfast was wonderful and accommodating for our food allergies! A perfect stay in Cobh!
