Such a quaint little town perched on the waters edge.
Lots of lovely restaurants serving lovely fresh seafood. And some quirky little shops.
We ate lunch at PJ’s known for its oysters.
And at the kingfisher bistro in the evening. Both served delicious food.

Lovely apartment on the Lough.
Lovely apartment on the Lough. The hosts make full use of the space allowing a party of five to stay in comfort. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday night and several of the restaurants were closed which is such a pity which resulted in us having to get take out. The property is right at the entrance to the Greenway and the bike hire company there were great, reasonably priced and very pleasant

Visited Carlingford for a wedding in the Four Seasons Hotel, which is an excellent venue for such an occasion. Quaint small town which was easy to navigate with one way system around town centre. Ate lunch in Carlingford Arms - excellent service and tasty food except for too many onions in chicken curry. Great view of Carlingford Lough from Castle. Visited a few interesting antique shops.

Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small...
Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small town situated on Carlingford Lough that defines part of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. It's name reflects the fact that some of it's first tourists :) were the Vikings. Many buildings point to its historic past, most notably King John's Castle. It boasts a variety of restaurants and pubs serving good food, so whether your preference is "surf" or "turf" (or both !) you won't be disappointed. For something to bring home, there are lots of interesting options, including visiting the award winning Garrett Mallon Design House and bringing home one of his distinctive pieces of jewellery or the work of one of his fellow designers featured there.

Great location on Carlingford Lough with great views across to County Down and the Mournes.
Carlingford is a very nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Live music, Good walks and Historical sites.
Good to visit at anytime of year.
Me and my Fiencee stayed the night, the room had a lovely aroma when we first walked in due to a tea light being lit in a safe place. It was a nice touch for first impressions.
The bed looked clean and the room well maintained.
The view from the room was just beautiful!
I would happily stay there again over any other BNB or hotel.
NOTE: I did end up loosing the room key and the BNB were very understanding - and did not charge me for a replacement (excellent customer service!).
This is an excellent place to stay in Carlingford. It's just minutes from the downtown, castle, and restaurants along the main road, but in a more idyllic atmosphere with animals grazing and a large, modern home to sleep in. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast Mark made for us was abundant, delicious, and customized for our family. He also upgraded us to a room with a larger bathroom and jacuzzi tub, which was both kind and well enjoyed.
The room was lovely & had all facilities needed! Kevin was a great host, very easy going & welcoming! We had a wedding in the Four Seasons hotel & he dropped us up to save me walking in my heels!!! The location was great as it was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel! The cooked breakfast the next morning was delicious! The B&B in general was very relaxed, we didn’t feel like we were in someone else’s house!
Just back from carlingford and a three night stay at the riverside lodge , cannot find fault it was a super place to stay great comfy rooms , spotlessly clean , breakfast was delicious and Elaine was just a wee lady went out of her way to make you feel at hone . Highly recommend this place and we will be looking forward to a few more weekends here in the near future
Lynn and Johnny were wonderful hosts and were so kind! Lynn welcomed us there early after arriving on a night flight from the USA. We were all exhausted but she was so kind in her welcome. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent! Johnny served the food and was a source of information and welcome to Carlingford.
The location is perfection, just a short walk from the village centre where there are plenty of places to eat & drink.
The view from our room was excellent, looking out across Carlingford Lough. This was a perfect location for the swimming event my husband was taking part in.
The hosts are wonderful, friendly, generous and kind
Wonderful location in the centre of Carlingford. Staff very friendly and acommodating - arranged early breakfast on day of departure. Food in Dining area very tasty and reasonably priced. Room comfortable (although heatwave highlighted lack of ventilation).
The Oystercatcher is right in the heart of Carlingford and convenient to everything the area has to offer. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. I have stayed here in several occasions and look forward to staying again the next time I am in Ireland.
The location was fantastic, within walking distance of the town. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The house was charming with a lovely outdoor space. The hosts were friendly and warm. We didn't want to leave and we'll definitely be back.
the room was spotless and really tastefully decorated, and the grounds of the house were lovely. we had just stayed in Dublin in a hotel at 3 times the price and there was no comparison Riverside Lodge hands done won
Feels like it's in the country yet only a two minute walk to pubs and restaurants.
Very friendly staff and an exceptionally well kept property. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly visit again.
The hotel room was beautiful and very comfortable, the restaurant downstairs exceeded our expectations and the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel!
You just sink into the bed - very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of people around to chat. Less than 5 minutes walk to Seven Season Hotel where we attended to a wedding.
