Really quiet and peaceful - woken in the mornings with birdsong and sunshine! Super location in a really beautiful place. So many places nearby to walk and visit. Some great restaurants within driving distance.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a last-minute accommodation and we are glad we did. It was very late when we ended up getting there, but Valarie made us feel at home right from the start. She even went and made tea for us, which was extremely welcomed after all the travel that day. Our room (#1) had a beautiful view of the river and surrounding hills. When we were up in the morning, we each had a full Irish breakfast that was very well made (also cereal and other options). Checkout was quick and painless (since we paid online) which gave us time to shower and chat with Valarie before leaving. We fulling intend to comeback the next time we are in Ireland and I'm going fishing.

The owner was lovely and very accommodating.
She advised us on some local places to see on our travels.
Located in the historic town of Dungarvan, in the South East of Ireland, Lawlors Hotel is a traditional family-run hotel, with comfortable, spacious rooms.
This friendly hotel has lovely views of the sea and estuary and offers well-priced food. It is a good base for visits to Waterford, Cashel, Cork, and Cobh.

It was well located at the edge of Youghal from which you could enjoy the historic town and, in the other direction, the long boardwalk and the blue flag beach

Lovely heritage town with loads of history, imposing castle and beautiful river walks! Only one restaurant open past 4pm, a few nice cafes, but generally not many possibilities for food in the evening.

Lismore Castle gardens and art gallery are wonderful and well worth the entry price. We spent about 3 hours there and enjoyed it very much. There are local walks along St Declan's way and a lovely drive up to the Vee in the Knockmealdown mountains nearby.

Beautiful historic town with one of the most amazing castles in the country, steeped in history. So many famous people have had links to the castle including the Mitford sisters, Fred Astaire and JFK. Amazing gardens too. Beautiful town also with a fantastic visitors’ centre and lovely shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Shout out for Valerie’s Gallery - a beautiful shop full of Valerie’s hand made arts and crafts. Well worth a visit.

A very pleasant town with a most interesting cathedral and an excellent Visitor Centre (the virtual reality presentation of Lismore Castle should not be missed). Also of note is the small park in the centre of town, very well set out and with some excellent information boards.

Went to a variety show in Cappoquin near Lismore but went next day to races. Old castle in the town as well a car parking for the races. Interesting milestones to various towns. Road from Mount Mellary to Lismore but saw on map of a private short cut through Cappoquin Denmense. Would have paid to cycle through it.
Gorgeous house & garden 2 minutes walk from Lismore Castle. It really was so nice to stay in with lots of nice touches & felt loved compared to other soulless houses we've rented. The host was lovely. Great base as Cork, Youghal, Cobh, Dungarvan, Ardmore & Waterford are all within an hour. The Blackwater is only up the road & great for Kayaking. Lismore itself is small but between the Castle gardens, the park, the Cathedral etc there's alot to see. Good variety of food options within the town too.
Very pleasant owners who made you feel very welcome. Every thing was as we expected. This is a good value clean hotel offering limited but wholesome menu. We were offered 3 choices for dinner, Steak Chicken or Fish. People within our group tried them all and each said theirs were very nice. Breakfast was full Irish and very tasty. Also enjoyed Guinness and larger from the small bar. Recommend this location if you are hiking the St Declans way or any other trails in this part of Waterford
met on arrival, welcomed, offered help with luggage. security with gate code, front door code. Set in its own grounds, and very quiet. My wife & I have often found many hotels are noisy with children causing problems. This location is adults only so just right for us. Continental Breakfast was optional but very welcome as set us up for the day. Could come and go any time and tea coffee was in the room, also more complimentary tea & coffee available down in lounge.
This is a beautiful B&B run by great hosts who have a good eye for detail. Closer to boutique hotel than B&B in the sense that it's larger than your average B&B. This means you have the benefit of the personal touch of B&Bs with the privacy of a hotel. The bedrooms are large and the furniture beautiful and in keeping with the building. Really liked the options for breakfast. Great location. A short walk into Lismore to view the gardens.
Room was clean, spacious, quiet and private. Ensuite bathroom was also spacious had hot water shower. Free parking available, and location is just a short walk to the town and Lismore Castle. Breakfast included and was good, (a menu is provided when you check-in and you select what you would like to order.) This was the most charming B and B and such a beautiful property. I highly recommend it!
My visit coincided with the owners being away on holiday, however I was very capably looked after by Bridget.
My flight to Dublin was delayed and I didn't arrive at the Hotel until 10pm. After passing through the gates Bridget was at the front door of the Hotel to greet me, explain how things worked and to show me to my room. She was very friendly and an absolute star throughout my stay.
As a French discovering Ireland for the first time, I was reticent to the idea of a B&B (as I am used to hotels).
It was a great experience. The place was wonderful with an adorable scenery (and view on the castle).
The hosts were really kind and welcoming.
The house and rooms had beautiful decorations.
And my first real local breakfast was tasty and again with a sweet scenery.
Ballyrafter is an historic house, set in beautiful grounds, adjacent to Lismore castle. Tom and Noreen are fabulous hosts, friendly and knowledegeble about the area.
The surrounding countryside is heaven for walkers. The nearest town, Lismore, is a short walk away.
The house is full of old-world charm and is set in a scenic rural area near Lismore castle near the river Blackwater. The host and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent.
The breakfast was delicious and graciously served. The staff was great! The location is lovely and dreamy! With Lismore castle in view from the front yard, it was so pretty!
