The village is quite pretty with many old houses. It is clean but in August quite busy. Traffic can be slow moving through the town. The beach was disappointing but Portmarnock beach a couple of miles south is very good. There are many restaurants which provide a variety of choice although there is a preponderance of Italian dishes. The views out to sea are good and walking around the town is interesting.

I'm not familiar with the area, trip was for a wedding with a couple of days added on. Transport was slow. Nowhere locally to leave a suitcase on departure day. The train station officer allowed us to leave it for a few hours.
We enjoyed a tour around Malahide Castle and a stroll around the gardens.
Lots of pubs if that's your thing. I don't drink.
Not knowing the area I am unlikely to visit there again. However, if you want a base for travel into town, it's fine. Travelling inland is tricky unless you travel by the Luas on the old line towards Sandyford.
We got taxis everywhere as the wedding was nearby, as were a couple of family visits. If going out, definitely plan your travel to reduce frustration. It is cheap though and taxis are not extortionate either, as fares strictly by the meter. Just book ahead if on a deadline :-)

The hotel expansion programme since my last visit is astonishing but it retains and has upgraded its regality without charging an extreemly high fee. Since it was too late to eat in the hotel we walked into the village and just scraped into a useful take away venue closing at 11 pm. Expectations that we could have had the food delivered to the hotel were unfounded but we enjoyed a late night drink to accompany the food on our return. This is a wonderful but not stuffy hotel with most agreable staff.

Food was delicious and service was excellent
The following are merely suggestions.
Increased designated access ways for pedestrians to access the beach
and additional seating placed at regular intervals on the coastal walkway to Portmarnock.

Good selection of restaurants and shops.
Good selection of restaurants and shops. Loved sale yPepe.Greg food and very welcoming waitresses. Filled COVID regulations well. Disappointed in Gibneys pub grub. Very limited menu. Burgers not properly cooked. Lovely boutiques.
Excellent location. Off-street parking. Felt like a safe neighborhood - we were walking about 11 pm after dinner in the town center. Room clean and neat and freshly painted. Private entrance to our room. Host delivered fresh tea and biscuits to our room after arrival. They also gave us a fabulous recommendation for a local pub for dinner. Very friendly host and staff.
Nice hotel, great location in Malahide, room was very big however our room unfortunately faced the huge mashinery from downstairs resulting in loud noises on and on. Also, we booked only one night at a very high price (approx EUR 300), but it must have been sth in the city because all hotels were super expensive at this weekend.
The location! The town center of Malahide is just a short stroll away, and it's filled with charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. The picturesque marina is another must-visit spot, and you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the waterfront while taking in the beautiful views.
Very close to the airport as well :)
Beautiful room - lovely décor, spacious, comfortable bed. Close proximity to Dublin Airport (10-15 mins drive) which was perfect for us as we were flying out next morning. Several eating places in Malahide village a short drive away. Highly recommend.
Lovely, comfortable ( great bed) all things catered for. Loved it. I will return. R was a great host. Thank you. I have told everyone! Short walk to Malahide centre and the Dart Malahide Castle beautiful and Avoca scones 😋😋
The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The house was close to the airport and within very easy walking distance to the charming town of Malahide, yet it was very quiet. Much better than staying in an airport hotel.
Very friendly, helpful. Home away from home.
Malahide has the Dart train that takes you into Dublin in 25 mins. The 102 bus from Dublin Airport drops you off in Malahide centre and then a 10 minute walk to Castle Lodge.
Comfortable, close to Malahide beach and a short walk to Malahide. Beautiful area and lovely stay at ByTheSea, the host was very welcoming and let me know if there was anything else I needed just ask.
The location is great, right by the Malahide Castle and the airport is 15 minutes away. The staff is very responsive. It's a great place to stay if you're catching a flight.
excellent choice for breakfast, room was large and beds very comfortable, you had a short walk to the village of malahide which had great restaurants and bars
Very elegant place, the kitchen was very well equipped, close to a bus stop (30 mins to the city centre) and very nice park & castle near by (Malahide)
