Really enjoyed the food, all meals were great along with an incredible dinner own the outdoor patio. The location is superb and the staff really made the experience enjoyable.

Central Station House is a lovely hotel. Wonderful staff, so friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast is exceptional and they are happy to make something off menu. Perfect location to walk to town center, pubs and restaurants. Signal restaurant in hotel is also great with varied menu, good pints and live music. Great value.

Breakfast both mornings of our 2 night stay was lovely. Full Irish well cooked, plenty of tea and toast/coffee and cereals etc. Servers were friendly and polite and service was prompt.
The hotel is excellently located in the town centre of Clifden and public car parking is available on the street outside and is free between 7pm and 9am.
Rooms are basic but shower pressure was good.

Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
Honestly I was so impressed by this place. Well proportioned and beautifully styled rooms, lovely common spaces, and ridiculously comfortable beds. Did not expect to have a stay as half as good as this while driving down the West coast, nevermind for as reasonable a price as it was.
Room had extra pillows/towels already stocked if they were needed, and a Nespresso machine and well stocked box of teas/coffees.
Clifden itself was a highlight of our road trip and the hotel is very well positioned to explore the town.
Spacious old style hotel with very good restaurant attached. The room and bathroom were large and the bed very comfortable. We could open our windows and the room was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent. We were able to park out the back of the hotel and also a great laundry service just 50m up the street.
E J Kings opposite provided excellent pub lunches and we had a great night at Lowrys bar from 10pm for music ( also only a short walk)
Clifden is small but this hotel is very central and easy.
The location is on sky road and the view on the sea and the other peninsulas is fantastic, even through a window in the roof. One is at the far end of Europe. Yet the town of Clifden is 12 minutes away and it has plenty of pubs, and the festival in september. It is the optimal place to stay a few days to visit all Connemara
Catriona has been very attentive to our needs , indications to find the house, breakfast, and very kind.
The breakfast was superb. Table service with a good variety of choices all cooked to order. The breakfast room has great sea views that change all year round. The hotel has some beautiful common spaces and the turf fire in the lounge area is very welcoming. Common areas were nicely furnished. The hotel bar is Cosy. The restaurant is highly rated but we didn't use it. Don't miss the Sky Road when in Clifden. Incredible views.
The cottage is picturesquely and conveniently located just outside the town of Clifden. It's location (just off the main road) means you have easy access to the Westport - Galway Road, as well as to the town, without all the traffic noise. The bedrooms are a good size and comfortable and the kitchen and utility are adequately equipped for short stays, where guests are likely to eat out a portion of the time.
Catriona and Pat were most welcoming on arrival at the apartment. Although we were self catering, breakfast cereals, milk and coffee / tea etc were left for us in addition to homemade cake and bread. The location was within a short walk from Clifden town centre. The facilities in the apartment were excellent. I highly recommend Buttermilk Lodge.
..Im going to say it as it is....
It is the bestest.comfiest.place ive stayed for years.ive stayed in hundreds of bb.hotels etc...this is NO1 by million miles. Ashford castle will rob you.but for sleep and comforts.BEST IN IRELAND..
And trust me.here your sleep like never before.
FORGET THE REST AND BOOK THE BEST
Excellent property near the town and looking on to the Station House hotel courtyard so we felt part of the action yet still on our own. Lovely cafe "Steam" in the courtyard as well ad other shops. Spotlessly clean and, while we didn't cook, there was everything one needed for a great stay
This was a fun place to explore Clifden from. We biked most days and enjoyed the house when we were home. one thing to know is it is located only 10 minutes from town but it’s a steep hill to climb if you are walking. we found it healthy after dinner and music.
Really enjoyed our 1 night stay at this beautiful house!Rooms are very clean, cosy and comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was excellent with best scrambled eggs in Ireland :) The owner are very welcoming, kindly and helpful. Best place to stay in Clifden.
Absolutely amazing experience with Ben View guesthouse. Desmond was so helpful and the whole stay was so lovely. Right in the heart of Clifden and you can walk anywhere. We will be staying here again if we travel back to Ireland in the future.
NIce and stylish guesthouse in the center of the quaint little town of Clifden. very friendly and informative owner with tips of places to visit in Connemara. good breakfast. owner rolls the butter for you in special shape.
Brilliant location in the heart of Clifden. Room was great with separate bedroom and living area. Very quiet in the evening despite Ireland playing off in rugby World Cup.
The town was very nice and everything was within walking distance. The best of all was the Irish pub across the street from the hotel with great live music every night.
