Woodlands Guest house is a beautiful home with spacious rooms (even a top sheet for bed), very good breakfast, best value so far, great location to do day trip to Connemara or Clifden or Wild Atlantic Way! Hostess, Barbara was very nice and hospitable. Loved the recommendation Sunday night to the Powers Thatch Cottage Pub. Good food, drinks, Craic and musical entertainment!

The place was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed! Eileen was also the best hostess, very caring and accommodating. She even left yummy treats for the night and morning. We would absolutely stay there again!

This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas.
This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a castle in the area and an association with the film The Quiet Man. It is a friendly town with 2 supermarkets and a number of places to eat.

A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes.
A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes. A few nice shops. Nice place to stay I'd you're traveling around Connemara. It's about and hour to Kylemore Abby as well as to the ferry or airport that gets you to the Aran Islands. Definitely work a stop if you have some time. Powers is a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel.
Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel. We ate our evening meal at pub/restaurant across road from Hotel. I can't remember name but it had a thatched roof and food was excellent.

It is a small town with a village atmosphere.
It is a small town with a village atmosphere. It's not far from Galway city centre and as hotels can be pricey in the city I would strongly suggest travellers take a look at this as an alternative. The town is filled with pubs and eateries and places to stay. I stayed at the Connemara Lake Hotel, right in the centre of the town and rate it highly. As a solo traveller I found the area friendly and welcoming. There is a small castle nearby which is worth a quick look, but the Glengowla Mines four kilometres away on the road to Clifden is a treat. Really interesting and the scenery out towards the coastal town of Clifden is beautiful. A lovely part of the world.
We stayed here over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, to travel around the west, mainly Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Neil and Bobbi were fantastic hosts, and went that extra mile to ensure we had an amazing trip (including getting my girlfriend cupcakes for her birthday!). Oughterard is a lovely quiet town as well, and you shouldn’t miss your chance to choose this B&B to experience the beauty of the west first hand.
Breakfast was perfect, A lovely cooked breakfast and plenty of other choices, our room was just like a hotel room, plenty of room, nice comfortable bed, really clean and tea & coffee provided, A lovely home from home,A really friendly host Patrica was and she was perfect and so helpful of what activities to do and how to get there, it was Center to where we wanted to see plus more, we will definitely go back again, loved it Thank you
We stayed here for one week as we explored County Galway. The house is centrally located, so it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go within one hour. Mary and Gerry are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Mary gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to eat in the area. Each morning we had a hot breakfast prepared to order. We wanted a local Irish place to stay, and that is exactly what we got!
Beautiful peaceful location, ideal for touring Connemara. A wonderful setting to return to at end of a busy day to that fantastic view out across the lake. A world away from everyday stresses! A real getaway from it all location! House is very well equipped and host is so friendly and available for any advice needed. We will return and this has been our 3rd visit to this charming house.
We enjoyed our stay at Camillaun very much. Deidre and Greg are great hosts - freindly and helpful. Excellent breakfast! The location is very convenient - a pleasant, short walk to Oughterard, which is a lovely little town that's a good jumping off point for exploring Connemara and Galway. House has a fantastic snooker table too!
Great location, close to town and just a walk down the road to some excellent pubs and restaurants. The facilities were nice and breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room can be a bit chilly in the morning. Not far from Galway if you want to stay close but in a more affordable area. Staff were very helpful.
Gerry and Mary were fantastic hosts. The location was in excellent proximity to Galway, and the Conemara area and within walking distance to Oughterard for some nice pubs and food. The breakfast was great and the place was quiet, and the beds were comfy. I would DEFINITELY stay here again, and hope to someday soon.
The hostess was delightful. Breakfast was excellent; plus it was an actual home-made breakfast. The area around the hotel is residential and nice to walk through. Plus the village next door was an excellent surprise: if it hadn't been for this hotel we wouldn't have stopped in Oughterard.
This B&B is a good starting point for a Connemara Road trip. The family that runs the B&B is very welcoming. rooms are clean and spacious. The parking lot is large and there is no problem in finding a place. There are pubs and shops within walking distance.
A lovely old hotel, like back in time for all the good reasons. Food was excellent, location delightful and well kept. A lovely stream to walk by. A perfect relax after a busy day. I will be back, Kindest regards Dympna. (Munster Rugby Supporter 😂)
The location was perfect for us. We had multiple windows we could open. The bathroom was huge! The beds were super comfy! The hotel staff was really nice, and even helped us to get our luggage to our room. Super great experience.
Everything was perfect 😊
Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
Grat place to stay in, if you are looking for pet friendly b&b within walking distance to Oughterard centre.
Patricia really looked after me with lovely breakfasts and great recommendations for dinner in Oughterard. Room was cosy which was needed considering the weather. Sleet and snow in March?!
The location is good for visiting Connemara, Cliff of Moher and Burren.
The room was clean and there was a kitchen shared with the other rooms.
There's a free parking for the customers
Great location, great value. rooms were basic and you had to wait a full 10 minutes for the hot water in the shower to heat up as per a notice from the hotel staff in the bathroom
Barbara was warm and welcoming. Ever so kind. Very comfortable stay. So close to the lovely town with restaurants and live music. We had a wonderful stay!
