Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
Breakfast was great. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. There was a mix up about which room we had actually booked and despite it likely being our mistake, we were upgraded to a larger room. We were given superior customer service during our entire stay. The location is great—close enough to Clifden and everything we wanted to do, but away from the hustle and bustle of the town. It’s location on the Sky road can’t be beat for views. The beds were comfy too! Would definitely stay here again and you should too!
The hosts are very kind and welcoming. I loved the super comfortable and huge bed, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing! Great breakfast. It’s a quick walk into town. Overall this is a very cute and cozy B&B.
Also, I forgot my jacket during my stay and the hosts arranged for it to be brought to me at my next hotel the following day. They really care about their guests!! Wish I could have stayed more nights.
.No wifi.no breakfast.room SERIOUSLY dated.loud music.seriously wasted idiots in bar..fighting.guards called.ive been travelling around ireland for years for work...this worst. How can you oay 100 euro night. No breakfast. But in this day.....noi wifi...and r channels on tv u couldn't watch cos of postion..id rather slept in car.......trust me....other hotels locally say im not first to walk out....
The property is brilliantly maintained and is warm and welcoming. Everything is clean, the rooms and ensuites are sparkling and the breakfast was excellent. It was February and the heating was very evidently on which made for a really comfortable stay. The facilities are better than many hotels. The property is very close to, but not on, the main social area of Clifden. There is car parking as well.
Absolutely loved everything about our stay. The location and set up of the Clifden Station House Hotel is fabulous. The station restaurant has fabulous food.
The rooms and beds are comfortable and spacious.
The staff are amazing, everyone from house keeping to reception to bar staff to the guy that delivered our room service to management are so incredibly friendly, helpful and overall fantastic.
Breakfast both mornings of our 2 night stay was lovely. Full Irish well cooked, plenty of tea and toast/coffee and cereals etc. Servers were friendly and polite and service was prompt.
The hotel is excellently located in the town centre of Clifden and public car parking is available on the street outside and is free between 7pm and 9am.
Rooms are basic but shower pressure was good.
views over the bay are stunning, definitely worth getting a room at the front of the hotel…
food top class - delicious breakfast, amazing seafood in both the bar & restaurant…
incredibly friendly staff, hotel is comfortably immaculate…
pet friendly & extremely accommodating
great location, on the outskirts of Clifden…
Absolutely fabulous hotel, extremely clean, comfortable and so quiet. It is located in the beautiful Clifden town, close to the most stunning places in Connemara. The hotel has wonderful, professional and so friendly staff. Breakfast is wonderful, fresh and served by a lovely staff. I highly recommend Hawthorn Lodge!
We loved everything about this place, especially Federique whose kindness and hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment she opened the door. Clifden Bay Lodge was clean, modern and our room a fair size with a brilliantly comfortable bed - the best couple of nights sleep in our road trip of Ireland.
Excellent property near the town and looking on to the Station House hotel courtyard so we felt part of the action yet still on our own. Lovely cafe "Steam" in the courtyard as well ad other shops. Spotlessly clean and, while we didn't cook, there was everything one needed for a great stay
Restaurant was fantastic and according to locals, the best place to eat in town. Art-deco style all around the hotel, very cool. Bar is cosy and has music on more often than not. Workers very professional in their respective trades. Will definitely be back.
Room was nice and comfortable. It was just a short walk to the cliffs. Location was a few minutes outside of Clifden, but a fairly easy drive during daylight hours. Wouldn't recommend making the drive in the dark. Breakfast was good.
The hotel is really nicely decorated, staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice, and the bar downstairs was a lovely spot to chat and have a drink! The location is fab, you could not get closer to the town of Clifden!
Brilliant location in the heart of Clifden. Room was great with separate bedroom and living area. Very quiet in the evening despite Ireland playing off in rugby World Cup.
Supreme hospitality, outstanding breakfast, and perfect location! You will never be welcomed at a hotel the way Des and crew make you feel welcome at Ben View!
