Mary’s home was a beautiful, peaceful place in the middle of Ireland. My son and I truly enjoyed our stay. It was close to lovely Athlone, and the drive was gorgeous. Mary, Sean and their dog Teddy were so welcoming. They even shared tea and cakes with us while we watched a Futbol match on the tv. The beds were extremely comfortable, to the point that it was hard to get out of bed. We absolutely will stay here again.

Roscommon is a lively town with great bars and restaurants mixed with historical interest and lovely, scenic walks plus near the River Shannon. Plenty of shops, all close by with a large shopping centre. Would recommend all to visit. Beautiful building with great fitness facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We were travelling through the area and only had one night to go to the Roscommon Race Track. Enjoyed our stay except our 5' 10" teenage granddaughter wasn't allowed in the fitness area even though she was accompanied by her mother and uncle.LindaCanada - 10Scored 10

The Amazing rathcroghan only a short distance away, lovely rivers lakes etc also strokestown house, Lough key forest park to name but a few. Part of the real Irish experience- not just the 15 min here and move on tourist spots. Can get around area by train or bus. Castle in Roscommon, Westport, and Athlone were some of my favorite spots and easy to access by nice train system that was accessible, affordable & easy to use. I wish I could have stayed 2 more days to enjoy the music festival in Mullingar. Best places to eat were Molloys ,Gleeson’s, Reagan’s Gastro Pub in Roscommon and Les Petite Tartes in Athleague

Like all towns in Ireland, shopping seems to have moved to the edge of town. The centre of Roscommon town is nearly finished a re-vamp by the local council and this will be of great benefit when finished.DominicIreland
