Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice.
There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs.
Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day.
Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.

Kinsale is a picturesque hilly harbourside town with great shops and restaurants. We had beautiful weather enjoyed walking around the town and took the harbor cruise. There were lots of good restaurants (a few require reservations way ahead), lively pubs, and various take-away food options. We stayed 2 nights, but only had 1 full day to explore the town. The roads into town are extremely steep & narrow, so we were happy to be able to park once at our guest house and not drive again till we left. Taxis are almost impossible to find. We ate at Fishy Fishy (had reservations months ahead) our first night and at the Blue Haven Restaurant & Bistro the second night. The live music was great. We heard great things about the Ghost Tour, but didn't have time for that. Parking can be an issue so make sure your guesthouse/hotel has parking. Stop at the Tourism office for great suggestions.

It is a beautiful village on a bay with an old-world charm. It can be quite busy as it is rightly popular. Lots of local shops, pubs and restaurants, all with an authentic feel. Beside the harbour, their are two marinas, two castle ruins and a lovely beach. It is also near the beginning of the Wild Atlantic Way which runs clockwise round the west coats of Ireland. 25 minutes from Cork airport, this place is a real gem

We really liked Kinsale, it was a trip down memory lane for my 89 year old dad. we went on a private cruise up the Bandon & a harbour cruise which was also great, where we saw Summer Cove, Charles and James Fort and listened to the fascinating history, we had a mead tour which was lovely & really interesting and we brought a few bottles of yummy mead. We did a bit of shopping, lots and lots of walking, scrumped the most delicious sweet figs over hanging from fig trees on the winding paths, and just had a lovely time.
John is an absolute gent. I can't speak more highly of him. His bnb is beautiful. This was the best bnb we have stayed in. The room was lovely, good power from the shower, bed was comfy and beautiful views. The breakfast was excellent. You wouldn't get it as good in a hotel who have all turned to buffets. The breakfast here is fresh, cooked to order. The walk to town is lovely, quiet country road into the heart of kinsale, takes maybe 15 or 20 minutes. Would 100% recommend.
nice clean bright room. We overlooked a childrens playground which was quite noisy. The location is brilliant, and can walk to the centre in a few minutes. On the night of arrival we didnt eat out. There was a chipper a couple of doors up (Dino's) Would go back just for their fish and chips. Weather was lovely. We had a wedding in the Trident Hotel, which was on the doorstep so a very enjoyable experience in Kinsale.
Such a charming spot. We stayed at so many different places on our time in Ireland - the two nights in the apartment above Daltons Bar was by far the best one. Location is perfect and the bar felt like our home base. The price was reasonable and we felt like we had so much space- more than expected! Even though the Daltons were out of town the bar staff was very welcoming.
Maeve was very welcoming and helpful! Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and a delicious breakfast in the morning with lots of variety in the menu and fresh fruit and home baked bread! The BnB is located up the hill of Kinsale but not a problem if you're mobile. All the staff were helpful and welcoming!
Staff are nice and helpfully. Know the area around best way for directing you around cork (do ask). Hotel rooms have great views of River Bandon and Kinsale Town. Great to pre-book restaurants. Man Fridays is a must go to place to eat...has indoor and roofed outdoors.
breakfast everyday was good. early morning coffee, however, requires a trip around the block or down the street. bar area is good. dinner options were adequate, and especially appreciated that dinner on a Monday night was available at the hotel.
Room a little tired, Black Clothing unit a little battered, carpet badly stained
Spa hotel would expect Robe and Slippers in the room for the price we paid
Food excellent, Staff Excellent, Views amazing!
Charming, great location in Kinsale. The pub was cozy, and served great food. The room was comfortable but small, the breakfasts abundant and delicious. They served the best cup of coffee I had in Ireland.
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location, overlooking the harbour/marina. Room was excellent, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast choices, and evening meals were also delicious.
Located in the heart of Kinsale, the hotel offers wonderful views of the town and harbor, and is just steps away from shopping, food and the wonderfully zigzagging colorful streets of Kinsale.
Amazing breakfast and service. Lovely location, easy walk to town. Charming rooms, updated bathrooms. This was my favorite stay out of 4 hotels/guesthouses we stayed at in Ireland.
In addition to the continental breakfast, freshly prepared items were available; the smoked salmon and sauteed mushrooms were the best!
Room was spacious and comfortable.
I loved absolutely everything about the place! I actually ended up extending my trip so I got to stay in both the Kinsale room & The Studio. Both were gorgeous and spacious.
