It was disastrous, my wife decided to go down the town for a walk around as she was walking she noticed foreigners watching her every move and they then started to pair up and follow her, she felt so threatened that she had to go into spar shop and wait for me to collect her. Would never visit there again.

Kinsale is beautiful and quaint, with fantastic food options considering the town's size; however, the traffic was surprising considering it was not "high season." Of course, spring breakers may have contributed, but a small town/village cannot sustain that many cars. It is sad to see so much construction going on, too, and hope the charm of Kinsale does not get swallowed up by consumerism.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.
Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice.
There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs.
Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day.
Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.

Kinsale is a picturesque hilly harbourside town with great shops and restaurants. We had beautiful weather enjoyed walking around the town and took the harbor cruise. There were lots of good restaurants (a few require reservations way ahead), lively pubs, and various take-away food options. We stayed 2 nights, but only had 1 full day to explore the town. The roads into town are extremely steep & narrow, so we were happy to be able to park once at our guest house and not drive again till we left. Taxis are almost impossible to find. We ate at Fishy Fishy (had reservations months ahead) our first night and at the Blue Haven Restaurant & Bistro the second night. The live music was great. We heard great things about the Ghost Tour, but didn't have time for that. Parking can be an issue so make sure your guesthouse/hotel has parking. Stop at the Tourism office for great suggestions.
After spending a week staying in hotel rooms and eating in restaurants, having a few days in a house with a large kitchen where we could cook our own food was fantastic. There is a grocery store less than five minutes away with a car. The 3 bed, 3 bath townhouse is brand new and located outside of the city center so it is quiet. There is also private parking. Mark and Eileen were attentive wonderful hosts (thank you for the fresh lilies and tulips on the table).
Everything:
Staff - very friendly, we felt special guests.
Food - best fish and chips ever. Massive choice of dishes for main course in the dinner menu. Kings breakfast - continental and full Irish. Portions are really big. Best combination of price and quality.
Room - big and lovely, Oyster Haven view.
Park around hotel. Nice walk down to the rocky beach
Gym facilities, spa, jacuzzi, swimming pool and sauna
We had a large comfortable room with river views from the balcony.
There was a fabulous choice at breakfast from fresh fruits, various cereals and yoghurts followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice. Best white pudding we have tasted.
If you like walking there is a scenic walk from the hotel into the town of Kinsale with incredible views of harbour.
Spacious bedroom with super king bed and plenty of comfy pillows! Breakfast was grand- excellent kippers! Staff were super friendly and helped us immensely, when we had a minor accident with a wheel. They were great with our small dog, and offered advice about walks etc Hotel has easy parking and is a short distance to the town.
We called in that afternoon and they were able to accommodate us. Convenient to center of town. Very clean and friendly staff. Great breakfast as well. also parking available on site. Best shower ever, water pressure is best in Ireland!

Charming, great location in Kinsale. The pub was cozy, and served great food. The room was comfortable but small, the breakfasts abundant and delicious. They served the best cup of coffee I had in Ireland.
Receptionist gave us a lovely welcome. Room spacious and gorgeous bed. Cookies and coffee machine in the room, a nice touch. Hotel is affilated with the Blue Haven so can access their bistro/live music.
Located in the heart of Kinsale, the hotel offers wonderful views of the town and harbor, and is just steps away from shopping, food and the wonderfully zigzagging colorful streets of Kinsale.
Great character to the hotel. Comfortable, warm, great location and the shower was the best shower of any hotel/venue we have ever stayed in. All in all it was great value so 10 out of 10. ⭐️
We loved our time in Kinsale and the owner/host was exceptionally helpful, kind, and friendly! Kinsale was our first full day in Ireland and we could not have asked for a better welcome.
Amazing breakfast and service. Lovely location, easy walk to town. Charming rooms, updated bathrooms. This was my favorite stay out of 4 hotels/guesthouses we stayed at in Ireland.
Very quant hotel - loved the rooms, space well utilized. Breakfast was wonderful, very good and staff was attentive. Centrally located in the seaside town of Kinsale.
The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. One of the best showers I’ve taken in Ireland was at the Trident Hotel! Great water pressure.
