This turned out to be a great place to stay for the night. In my planning for our trip I was looking for a spot that was roughly half way between Donegal and Dublin that had an interesting place to stay. The Keepers Arms filled that bill. The room was pleasant, the beds comfortable, and good water pressure in the shower. The building is located near the main crossroads of the village (not that there was much traffic, but there were quite a few tractors passing through) but the noise of the traffic disappeared once we closed the windows for the night. We had chosen in advance to have dinner in the pub that evening since there was no other option nearby and the menu on line looked pretty good. When we were seated (we were the only diners at first, later to be joined by a local couple and a gentleman who came in for a pint) we were told that the kitchen was out of steak and fish. That left cheese burgers and chips for us, which were pretty good.
Towards the end of our meal we met Sheila, the owner of the place. She was very welcoming and suggested that we take advantage of the two more hours of daylight by taking a drive out to the nearby sights. So we took the short drive to Tullydermot Falls which had recently had its parking area and walkway to the falls updated. The falls are likely very impressive when there was water flowing but there had been a lack of rain but it was still a pretty spot. We then drove up to the Altachullion Viewpoint, a spot at the top of a hill that had a parking area about the size of half a football pitch. It was very apparent that the nearby flock of sheep had spent time enjoying the views for one really had to watch their step in the parking lot.
In the morning we were served a wonderful, full Irish breakfast cooked to order by Sheila. It is obvious that Sheila has a deep love for her place and for showing her guests the warm hospitality that the Irish are known for.

Stunning location, the cabin is extremely well equipped and even bigger than we anticipated. Lovely and very responsive host. An absolute hidden gem. We have told all of our friends and family about this place and will be back in the future
Ballinamore is a small country town. There are several places to eat and drink and some shops. There are many different trails, short and long just outside the town. The town is situated on the banks of a canal and is very picturesque

Ballinamore was a lovely quaint village just 5 mins from Drumcoura.
It has a few shops, Gabrielle in his everything shop was really helpful.
There is also a cash machine & a super value for all your food needs.
The location was ideal for us just outside Ballinamore. Patricia was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious with lovely high ceiling. The bed was super comfy and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the sunny conservatory. Patricia asked our preference for cooked food and we had eggs and sausage which was ideal. Nice chilled fruit bowl too. Other options available also. It’s in a beautiful rural setting with Shannon Erne waterway just close by. We enjoyed our one night stay very much.
Hamils B & B is a lovely comfortable place to stay in an ideal location, in the centre of the town of Ballinamore, but off the road in a quiet area. Bernadette and Damian were the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful from the moment we met them. The B & B itself is clean and comfortable with excellent facilities - a coffee machine outside our door, a spacious room with a very comfortabe bed and a modern ensuite. The breakfast was top notch.
Riversdale is a unique B&B - a lovely historic old house in a beautiful part of Leitrim, just a short drive to Ballinamore, with great facilities and a really welcoming host & staff. Swimming pool & gym, local canal walk, comfortable sitting rooms, great night sky. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and with nice decor and bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend
Lovely old farm house with character , nice quiet countryside location but only few minutes drive ballinamore and 25 mins from Carrick on Shannon. Good size big rooms and has the benefits of a nice heated pool which is a first for me in a b&b and we really enjoyed it. Very nice staff and a great breakfast to get you going in the morning
Staff very friendly. Really comfortable bed. Very clean and shower good. Owner around all the time and very sociable. Liked the location as on main street so were able to sit outside and see the world going by! We got a room at back of hotel so really quiet.
Wonderful house with plenty of space. Host couldn’t have been more hospitable. Even had some welcoming dry goods and snacks and a couple of fridge staples. Right across from lovely Garadice lake and only a few minutes from Ballinamore. Loved it.
Super spacious with really good facilities. A short drive to Fenagh & Ballinamore. Central heating at the touch of a button. The open fireplace in the sitting room plus the wood burner on the living room were set up ready to light.
