A small Donegal town on Wild Atlantic way. Not much around.
A small Donegal town on Wild Atlantic way. Not much around. In Gaeltacht region but everyone English speakers too. Beautiful walks around the Poisoned Glenn. At the foot of Mount Errigal so plenty of hikes available too for all abilities.

This is a stunning part of Donegal!
This is a stunning part of Donegal! Great day trips and incredible Irish music at a local pub called Leo's. We stayed 3 night and had great weather! We arrived for New Year so there were great pubs, great food and lots of music to keep us entertained.

I love Gweedore; I have visited many times but for short stays only. It is an authentic Irish place which has retained its traditional charm. We are a retired couple but there lots of activities & entertainment to suit all ages

Local hills and beaches are great for outdoor activities,...
Local hills and beaches are great for outdoor activities, weather allowing and are very scenic. Great again weather allowing for night sky watching and sunset watching or just letting time go by. Ideally you need a motor vehicle to get around as shops etc are not in general close by though you do see many people out cycling and the roads do not have pavements in places so you have to walk on the road. Most motorists are Ok but you do get the odd person who should not be allowed behind a steering wheel. The area near the coast is covered by holiday homes but go in land and you enter some stunning scenery the same applies to stretches of coast line. You also get a choice of eating establishments and supermarkets are dotted along the main roads.
Noreen greeted us with a smile and a friendly chat and made us very welcome. Room was comfy and warm and had an excellent view of the sea and surrounding area. Bed was very clean and comfy and all areas were very clean. Nice thought with home made buns for tea on arrival. Breakfast was huge and very enjoyable. Nice touch when Noreen made my grandson some home made pancakes that went down a treat. We would definitely stay in this Bed an Breakfast again. Great choice for anyone needing a room in Gweedore. Thank you for your hospitality Noreen.
Primrose cottage is absolutely beautiful. It's in a great location in gorgeous Gweedore, it's so cosy, clean and comfortable. Noreen is a fabulous hostess, very kind, helpful and she had the fire lit for us arriving, a huge bonus! She shared her knowledge of the local area and directed us to the most beautiful places. We had a fantastic stay at Primrose Cottage and we can't wait to return again soon.
Breakfast was not included in our type of reservation. A very good breakfast is available from what I could see.
There is an excellent bar-restaurant on site. which is open for food beginning at around 11 AM and open until around 9:00 PM. We wereat the hotel ion the middle of the week during the off-season, so there are more food and drink option on weekends and during the high season.
The hotel restaurant and bar (separate from the hotel main building) was lovely, lively and welcoming.
Beds were comfortable
Corridors and public areas spotless
Spa and pool was excellent (a tad on the cold side, especially the adult pool)
Cleaning staff very friendly and chatty (greeted children etc)
An ideal base for our trip to Gweedore. Noreen's hospitality is second to none. We arrived to a lovely warm welcome, fire lit and kettle boiled. The place was lovely and cosy and absolutely spotless. Well within walking distance to shops, pubs and beaches.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The petting zoo and playground beside the hotel makes it a great location for families. Special mention to the Michigan bar man, cocktails were fantastic.
A really beautiful hotel with lovely, friendly staff from receptionists to bar staff. Breakfast and dinner was gorgeous with plenty of it. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable.
Room was large and had all items required. Good that live music was available due to hotel being quite secluded. Food in restaurant was great and piping hot
