I had stayed in this hotel in the past.
I had stayed in this hotel in the past. Location is good if you want to get on the N6 but it is in need of updating. To be fair, work has commenced but needs to continue. Staff were fabulous and helpful but some areas need up grade. Breakfast ok but could be more varied. Rooms very clean but part of hotel very dated. I look forward to returning when work completed.

Lucan is a beautiful place for a holiday... Lovely village by the river with friendly people, cute cafés, restaurants, artisan bakery, fruit and veg shop, Centra shop, amazing park (St. Catherine's) and walks, very central. All Dublin tourist attractions within half an hour's drive. Plenty to do whatever the weather and whatever you are interested in.

We primarily went to see family who live there, so didn't do a lot of sightseeing. Lucan Village very nice, with the river. For children, a nice adventure playground at Griffeen Park.
Easy access to Dublin - we went to the Aqua Centre and the Zoo.
Didn't eat in Lucan itself (went to family) but plenty at Liffey Valley.

We loved Lucan!!
We loved Lucan!! The Coffee Works shop was perfect for a cup of coffee and a pastry and the staff was super nice. Lots of great food and a gorgeous park with river in the middle. Tiny little village but we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we wanted to. They have three parks, lots of restaurants, and a Tesco down the road for any basics like toiletries, snacks or groceries.
The location in Lucan, the big garden, the dog & trampoline, the nature around. The property has potential and I think they are working to improve the place.
Kind owner who tries to help as much as he can.
The room we got was the one at the back of the property, separate from the house. Great as it was spacious, we had privacy, we were independent, could park next to it. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and clean.
We had access to a washing machine outside which we could use.
Our stay at the hotel was for a short night before a very early flight. Therefore, we were not able to enjoy the surroundings. However, the staff were fantastic. Abby (sp?), Alice, Erica, and Ian all did their job very well. The customer service was exceptional. The bistro and the bar staff were also outstanding.
The building needs some TLC. But it still was interesting seeing the artwork and decor.
I loved that it was so quiet and I loved Lucan Village I’d never been but it was a great choice .It was close enough to Dublin and I got my bearings after my flight there . The Hosts are very gracious and thoughtful so I enjoyed meeting Alan and Wellington very much . The bed was so comfortable and very high quality clean sheets . I would certainly recommend to anyone .
We loved our stay at Finnstown Castle Hotel! The room was lovely and the bed was insanely comfy. We got the bus from Dublin to the hotel and it was so easy, there was a bus stop right outside the hotel. Really recommend if you’re looking for a nice place to stay near Dublin. Breakfast was good too and staff were very attentive.
The Staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly or attentive, genuinely lovely people from the moment we arrived to when we left.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and our Triple room was a great size.
Overall, great value for money with excellent hospitality. Thank you to all at The Lucan Spa, we will be back
It is an old estate being refurbished. Very clean, very well updated, access to cooking facilities, beautiful setting. Easy walking distance to Lucan ( I did not rent a car). I loved my two week stay. Each room had a small microwave, small fridge and teapot.
Very friendly, accommodating and super helpful owners, stunning gardens and really lovely location. Everything you need in easy walking distance in Lucan and the walk there and back is manageable and STUNNINGLY beautiful along the Liffey. Very kid friendly.
The room size. Absolutely huge. Other reviewers had commented highly and I have to agree. Excellent size room and nice grounds. Suited our needs as close to where we wanted to be. A lovely quiet hotel with very helpful staff. Loads of parking.
Yoly, susi and sean are very helpful. The place is beautiful. The dog was a plus, my kids love it. Super close to main highways and nice place to eat. Excellent for families, couples or just a solo trip. 19 minutes from Dublin.
A bit outside of Dublin, but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, perfect for a family stay (my kids were really impressed), excellent breakfast, very friendly and afficient staff, quiet and peaceful.
We liked everything. The location was great for our purposes and a bus can take you straight to Dublin. It was a huge room and very comfortable. Good breakfast and lovely grounds. Great staff!
Room 103 was much better than my previous stay, since it was quieter. Apparently all family rooms are on the motorway side of the hotel. Very good bus service into the city.
Room and beds were very good.
Location is good for City Centre. Road outside was a little busy, but the Hotel is set very far back, and has a rural atmosphere to it.
Perfect for a short family stay and within easy driving reach of all the sites around Dublin. Very close to Lucan village which has some nice bars and restaurants.
Breakfast was good. The hotel has a unique historic feel. The rooms are clean. 40 minute bus to the city centre which runs every few minutes from Lucan.
