I had stayed in this hotel in the past.
I had stayed in this hotel in the past. Location is good if you want to get on the N6 but it is in need of updating. To be fair, work has commenced but needs to continue. Staff were fabulous and helpful but some areas need up grade. Breakfast ok but could be more varied. Rooms very clean but part of hotel very dated. I look forward to returning when work completed.

Lucan is a beautiful place for a holiday... Lovely village by the river with friendly people, cute cafés, restaurants, artisan bakery, fruit and veg shop, Centra shop, amazing park (St. Catherine's) and walks, very central. All Dublin tourist attractions within half an hour's drive. Plenty to do whatever the weather and whatever you are interested in.

We primarily went to see family who live there, so didn't do a lot of sightseeing. Lucan Village very nice, with the river. For children, a nice adventure playground at Griffeen Park.
Easy access to Dublin - we went to the Aqua Centre and the Zoo.
Didn't eat in Lucan itself (went to family) but plenty at Liffey Valley.

We loved Lucan!!
We loved Lucan!! The Coffee Works shop was perfect for a cup of coffee and a pastry and the staff was super nice. Lots of great food and a gorgeous park with river in the middle. Tiny little village but we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we wanted to. They have three parks, lots of restaurants, and a Tesco down the road for any basics like toiletries, snacks or groceries.
This property was exceptional, the grounds and gardens were lovely for a little walk and for the view. the interior of the castle was decorated to suit the castle perfectly. I enjoyed the food I had for dinner at Jim's Bar and the staff made the experience even better - they were very helpful and immensely polite. The room I stayed in wasn't in the castle, it was in the court yard. The room was spacious, clean and had everything needed to enjoy chilling out. I couldn't recommend Finnstown Castle Hotel enough!
Sean and the crew were very welcoming. Lucan village was beyond the pale. (or one field away!) so much fun Saturday night at Kenny’s pub. seemed whole town was in the graveyard garden singing songs. The farm dog Cullen was a blast. our Ukrainian neighbors were awesome. the boys out back with a fire pit and drinks were awesome. did we mention the donkey and llama? wife loved the gardens!
I loved that it was so quiet and I loved Lucan Village I’d never been but it was a great choice .It was close enough to Dublin and I got my bearings after my flight there . The Hosts are very gracious and thoughtful so I enjoyed meeting Alan and Wellington very much . The bed was so comfortable and very high quality clean sheets . I would certainly recommend to anyone .
We had an upgrade from our booking to a larger 2 bedroom accomodation. Lots of facilities in the kitchen area, tea coffee etc. Very quiet at night for relaxing. Close to Lucan, very short car/taxi ride
The quietness of this hotel is unique as its in the heart of lucan. We left our window open all night and not a sound to be heard . You really feel like you are in the middle of the country side .
We liked everything. The location was great for our purposes and a bus can take you straight to Dublin. It was a huge room and very comfortable. Good breakfast and lovely grounds. Great staff!
Beautiful buildings and grounds, Great pub and staff with attention to detail, ample parking, many choices for breakfast. the Dublin city bus stops at the end of the roadway entrance.
Room 103 was much better than my previous stay, since it was quieter. Apparently all family rooms are on the motorway side of the hotel. Very good bus service into the city.
Perfect for a short family stay and within easy driving reach of all the sites around Dublin. Very close to Lucan village which has some nice bars and restaurants.
Sean is an extremely friendly and helpful host. Excellent location for various Dublin attractions. Lucan is a lovely village with wide choice of nice restaurants
The hotel was easy to get to and the actual grounds and overall facilities were amazing.
The food was excellent and the function room area was beautiful
