We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet.
We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet. This is well worth a visit. The food was great! I really enjoyed the Mead welcome drinks too! The staff who were serving our food were also the entertainment. The singing was absolutely fantastic! I sing in a Welsh choir, I was seriously impressed! They instrumentalists were also exceptional. The host was also very funny, so it was a great night!
The castle is a fantastic attraction to visit and spend time with family and learn all about the medieval past.
After the banquet we went into the village and visited the local pubs. What an exceptional warm welcome we received. Both pubs had musicians playing and singing! What a place to visit for a bit of authentic Irish entertainment.

Bunratty provided a close location to Shannon Airport necessary after an overnight flight. We dined at JP Clarks which is lovely and delicious. Dirty Nelly's was adorable, but we couldn't get service. Bunratty Folk Park is well worth a visit. The breakfast served at Bunratty Mews B & B was plentiful and delicious which we could enjoy and be on our way.

Bunratty Castle gives you access to all the rooms.
Bunratty Castle gives you access to all the rooms. If you have trouble walking on narrow steep surfaces you would not have access to most of the castle, however the rest of the park is very interesting and accessible.

This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation.
This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation. It is a short drive from the Shannon airport and the Bunratty Castle/folk museum is a great way to shake off jet lag. There is shopping and restaurants in town that are very good options.
As you approach the building, it seems like a great estate house....tall ceilings, large rooms, opulent furnishings. Our room was quite large, with a large bed, and sofas by the window. There is a game room with billiard table and bar area which is quite nice for a B&B, and a baby grand piano (that could really use a tuning). Breakfast is served in a delightful dining room with traditional english breakfast offered. There's a couple of pubs nearby in Bunratty, right by the castle that were quite fun.
My wife and I were on a 2 week vacation all across Ireland, we stayed in a couple of different hotels and an Air bnb, the bunratty meadows was by far the most comfortable, cozy farmland feeling ever. The hosts were awsome that provided a beautiful breakfast in the mornings. Having coffee in the morning watching the sun rise in the pasture with the cows grazing was very relaxing. When we come back for our next visit to Ireland we will Deffinetly be staying at this location again. It was sadly missed
This is a lovely comfortable hotel. It is within walking distance of the Bunratty attractions - i.e Bunratty Castle and Folk Park,
Durty Nellys famous pub and restaurant, and small shopping area / restaurants, coffee shops/ Aran sweater shop etc.
The hotel itself is extremely comfortable, has a lovely residents lounge, and of course a bar. Breakfast was perfect, great choice and very reasonable. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.
The host "Joe" was absolutely fantastic and friendly. He was always there and gave us tips for traveling & restaurants/ bars. Our room was big, lovely furnished and neatly and we enjoyed every second. Only some minutes to go you have everything you need. Food, an original great pub with live music, a petrol station and the Bunratty castle. We loved the village and the feeling there. THANK you Joe and we´ll come back anytime. Be safe & take care! The 3 ladys from Germany :)
The clerk upon check-in was extremely helpful. He is really what sets this place apart. Told us where we could eat and gave us information on the castle. Rooms were large enough to lay out and they were clean. Breakfast was also excellent. We stopped here on a recommendation from the states, which said it was a B&B with traditional hotel expectations. In a nutshell, Americans will appreciate having the option of being left alone.
it was convenient to Shannon Airport. Also to good restaurants. the room and bathroom were clean , bed and pillows comfortable. Travelers need to understand that the older hotels are not like a modern Marriott. There is usually no air conditioning or enough outlets to accommodate all of our gadgets at the same time, usually no elevator. if you can be flexible it is a charming place to,stay.
This is a beautiful B&B. Lorraine was so kind and helpful. We were just overnight to catch a flight out of Shannon Airport. Lorraine gave us directions into Bunratty where we had a wonderful meal and saw the castle. She also booked us a taxi at 5:45 the next morning which was so helpful! Her soda bread is delicious. Wish we could have spent more time here, the surroundings were beautiful.
Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Everything had been prepared with good taste - quality bed linen, furnishings, decoration. Catherine was very helpful, informative and pleasant. The location - surrounded by countryside but within easy reach of Shannon Airport and motorway - was ideal. I was so pleasantly surprised by this accommodation - so much more than a hotel room!
The location was perfect for getting to Shannon airport early the next morning ….and also, to have a nice area to visit the afternoon before ( Bunratty folk park and castle and Durty Nellies).
Sheelagh left a beautiful breakfast for us to have in the early morning before leaving for the airport.
This was a last minute booking due to a change in travel plans, and Mel couldn't have been more accommodating. Their home/rooms were simple & comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, especially the home bake scones! Walking distance to Bunratty Castle.
The house was located less than five minutes from Bunratty castle. It’s a beautiful house and the guest had use of an upstairs living room area. Rooms were very nice and Margaret as a wonderful hostess. The breakfast was awesome. Very good!
Caroline was wonderful and met us at #14 with the keys to give us the property overview. Property location is ideal and we were able to walk to restaurants and Bunratty Castle. Property is well maintained and very comfortable.
Lovely room with en suite, within walking distance of the village and its 4 pubs/restaurants and the fantastic Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Great breakfast in our room each day also.
Location was brilliant walking distance to shops, restaurants and Bunratty Castle. Also motorway just around the corner to travel to Limerick 10m drive and Ennis 15min
Fantastic hotel and location is easily accessible for all attractions In Clare. Staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the Bunratty Castle.
