Local businesses lacked the customer service mentality that seems prevalent throughout Ireland. Very few dining options, most of them full. Cobh is a small town easily covered in an afternoon, and nothing about the local populace invites much engagement. It was a drab experience overall.

Cobh is delightful, quite small but with many things to do mainly concerned with history of the town. It is associated with the Titanic, but amazingly the infrastructure for the big liners is still there: the White Star Line and Cunard offices are still there as is the train station which brought so many travellers to the town. There are plenty of good restaurants in the town and the town is very easy to get around. The only problem is the hilliness of the town. Also Cork city is very close by.

A picturesque little spot set on a steep hill. Beautiful views, fantastic cathedral, interesting Titanic Experience museum. Trips out to Spike Island although we didn’t have time to visit. Easy distance for Cork City and Blarney Castle which are both recommended.

I didn't realize that Cobh was so small and booked two nights there. In hindsight I should have just made it a day trip from Cork. I visited the Titanic Experience which was very informative. It is only about 45 minutes long so I recommend checking it out. There is a completely gluten free cafe there called Hoban's Treats, which was great for me as I am celiac. However, my kids also enjoyed their cake and cookies. I was only let down by two things. The boat trips to Spike island stop at around 2pm and I wasn't aware of that. Also, a number of restaurants were closed even though their sites and Google had them as open. It was difficult to find a place to have dinner that could cater for my dietary requirements.

What a spot. The most beautiful town, with a strong history.
What a spot. The most beautiful town, with a strong history. Locals are great people and the pubs a joy. The standard of music and musician's on show I can only put on a par with the city of Liverpool.
Cobh is a jewel in Irelands crown
Out of 12 B&Bs I stayed in during my 3 weeks in Ireland, this guesthouse was easily #1. My hosts, Maire and Joe, could not have been kinder. My room was quite large; the bed very comfortable; the ambiance quiet. Maire adjusted breakfast to address my allergies - it was delicious. She gave me several suggestions of things to do and see during my stay - all of them spot on. I recommend this guesthouse unreservedly and with true enthusiasm to anyone traveling to Cobh.
The bedrooms were enormous and immaculate. The house, whilst huge, retains a warm and homely atmosphere. The host was delightful, warm and welcoming, helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to to make us feel at home and even bought me some bread mix to take home as I loved her daily freshly baked bread so much! The location was perfect to discover this beautiful and historic part of Ireland. Would happily recommend to anyone visiting cobh.
We had both a continental and full breakfast choice. The continental offerings were more than adequate; smoked fish, meats, cheese, fruit, cereal. My wife had eggs which were cooked to order.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is a few minutes from downtown Cobh.
The property is tightly packed with narrow views of the harbor. The BB is in a converted rectory which still shows in various rooms.
We got only a complimentary breakfast , muffins , juice and fruits . But the location was great , we are just in the centre of Cobh , everything is reachable and handy , the tourist spots , the train station , the Cobh museum and the St. Colman’s Cathedral it’s just few minutes walk from the hotel . So we have a great holiday and the kids enjoyed it .
At first we didn’t really prepare for being part of someone else’s home, and to be treated so well. The hosts are fantastic, made us feel very very welcome, a totally different and wonderful experience from any other b+b or hotel we have stayed in Ireland. View of the bay was wonderful, and the breakfast (with surprise twist) was also wonderful.
The apartments were great, facilities exactly what we wanted for all 8 of us the stay together and separate from the rest of the hotel, The view was superb.
The Chinese restaurant in the hotel was also very good, and the hotel staff excellent and helpful.
Cobh is fantastic for a short stay, the pubs are great and interesting things to do.
Delicious breakfast menu - accompanied by freshly baked scones and brown bread . Lovely house in quiet area - ideal location for exploring Cobh and other towns in South Cork. Enjoyed the 15 min quayside walk into the historic port centre each day. Regular short commute by train available Cobh to Cork City daily. .
The beautifully decorated SeaView Apartment Suite is in a great location to enjoy the area of Cobh. Our host Bernadette met us there to let us in and gave us a tour of the apartment before handing over the keys. The kitchen was generously stocked with fruit, coffee, tea and biscuits to get us started.
super clean, good location by the sea, 5 min away from Cobh town center. John and Aniko were excellent! they welcomed us and on the next morning we had a lovely breakfast with an amazing view even tho was raining. definitely will come back!
Cobh is a really a gem of a place to see and experience, The hotel was great with a excellent balcony in the restuarant overlooking the port and spike Island. Highly recommend the breakfast also it was fantastic with all choices available.
This hotel has character. Staff are lovely and very assertive. Our 3 nights here have been an absolute joy. Kelly's next door needs a mention too as does the whole town of Cobh. Wonderful experience. Have no bad words to say!
Perfect location to walk to everything in Cobh. It is right on the water so the view is wonderful and you are able to watch the cruise ships arrive and leave. This was our 2nd stay and would recommend to anyone to stay here.
Mary’s place was lovely! We slept very well, very nice linens and a beautiful view from the top floor of the port. Easy to walk around and enjoy the sites. If I was back in Cobh, I would choose to stay at Mary’s!
Excellent breakfast offering with the best view in Cobh. Classy, organized staff. Free parking under the hotel. Endless bay watching. Central location next to an interesting museum.
It was a beautiful guesthouse and the owner was super kind. The room was huge and comfortable; the breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend staying here if you're around Cobh.
Friendly welcoming hosts, beautiful historic building, delicious generous breakfast, extremely clean and very spacious room! Short walk to main strip in Cobh.
