So underrated, I would wholly recommend Ardara to anyone looking for friendly, kind locals in Donegal. It’s a quiet town in the middle of the west coast, perfect as a base for exploring Co. Donegal. Nancy’s Pub is great in the evenings; Sliabgh Liag Distillery is a must-visit and Eddie Doherty is a local celebrity with his weaving skills! Reasonably priced Donegal tweed products - much more affordable than the other shop in town. The Courthouse (in the Heritage Center) also does delicious breakfasts and baked goods. The only thing I’d be wary of is walking along the road - the drivers speed regardless of the time of day.

Easy to get around.
Easy to get around. Parking in free car parks or on the street.
Good base for touring Donegal.
Main hotel Nesbitt Arms are taking in Ukrainian refugees so will be closed to tourist accommodation.
The Corner House & other pubs are lively on a weekend night, so it can be noisy on the streets after hours.
Mostly good pub food available - very few restaurants.
The staff were pleasant, chatty and really helpful.
The location was excellent, our bedroom was beautifully decorated, and really comfy. Lovely attention to detail, though the bathroom was older, it was a great space and all areas were kept very clean.
We ate in the dining room, again staff were friendly and helpful. The food was beautifully done I had the tempura prawns and fish and chips- batter and fish cooked to perfection.
Really it is a very busy hotel, but you are made to feel so welcome - a credit to Ardara.
The location is just perfect a few minutes drive from Ardara. The owners surprised me with a gorgeous fruit salad breakfast & also provided cooked porridge, coffee, local bread & jams. The view from this property is just breathtaking it's definitely a hidden gem on the Wild Atlantic way! Photos don't do it justice. the owners are so friendly & made me feel so at home. I can't wait to stay at their property again & I already recommended to many friends
The accommodation is extremely central with free on street parking. Aileen welcomed us to our lovely, clean homely room. We had full use of the kitchen facilities which included a coffee machine, kettle, fridge etc. Lots of food items were also given to us to enjoy over the course of our stay. The generosity and extra little touches meant a lot. We will 100% be back for another visit in the future.
Nice restaurant in the hotel. Not expensive. Quantities more than adequate. Quick and friendly service. Not exceptional but perfectly fine. If your intention is to explore the area by foot, not much to see. By car and within 15-20 miles, beautiful beaches and deserted, untouched areas.
It’s a cozy place for family vacation and my family enjoyed that very much. The host Arlene is very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Overall we have a very positive experience and would recommend to anyone staying in Ardara region 😊
Very comfortable and fully equipped apartment, just a 2 minute walk to the centre of Ardara where there are plenty of options for eating out, supermarket and pubs for entertainment. Hosts Rosina and John couldn’t do enough for us, highly recommend.
Host ,room, location and breakfast.all excellent.
Irene is a legend 🙂 couldn't do enough for us, we were made to feel very welcome despite turning up on motorbikes after heavy rain. Ardara is great too.
Would recommend wholeheartedly
Cosy and comfortable. Excellent central location in the heart of Ardara, a stone’s throw away from pubs and restaurants. Friendly and welcoming host, easily contactable. Good options for self-service continental breakfast.
Great Hosts - Great Location - easy walk to Ardara town, the Distillery (and Showgrounds on the day that was in it!). I recommend all visitors to enquire about the Rugby jersey on display in the Hall !
Great location. Few minutes drive from Ardara town, as we were there for Cup an tae festival in the town. House was perfect for us, 2 adults 2 kids. Nice little touches in kids room such as toys/games.
Excellent location in the centre of Ardara. Lots of restaurants, lively pubs and a cafe that does an excellent breakfast.
Comfortable beds in a clean safe apartment - perfect for a night away
Very good quality & clean B&B, Aunty B is very pleasant as are her staff. The house is very clean tidy and comfortable. We spent 3 nights in Donegal. It was the best B&B we stayed in.
The place was really nice and clean. Good, quite location just outside Ardara town. Lady at the property was really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good and nice portion.
Better than a hotel for a fraction of the price. The rooms were finished to a high standard and the kitchen/sitting room area are amazing. 100% will be back again
House is within walking distance to the town. Louise was very friendly and provided us with a wholesome breakfast of cereals, poached eggs, ham, cheese etc.
