Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
The breakfast was amazing. The bed was firm and comfortable. Nice full-size tub in the bathroom. Convenient to all the great shops, pubs and restaurants in town. Nice little garden in the back. Plenty of seating in the lobby to hang out. Marconi Restaurant is good. The place has the overall look and feel of a classic Irish small hotel. Nice to have access to an in-house bar, Mullarkeys. Staff was friendly and helpful. Off-street parking is a big plus in this town.
The property is brilliantly maintained and is warm and welcoming. Everything is clean, the rooms and ensuites are sparkling and the breakfast was excellent. It was February and the heating was very evidently on which made for a really comfortable stay. The facilities are better than many hotels. The property is very close to, but not on, the main social area of Clifden. There is car parking as well.
It was a great place to stay for visiting Connemara and Clifden. It is just a few minutes' drive out of Clifden, but out in the country. There was plenty of parking and the rooms were nice and big. The breakfast was outstanding the next morning. The omelet was cooked to perfection. Overall, a great place to stay, especially if you have a car.

The location was very central to Clifden. The room was basic but clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No dining facilities in the hotel but we were offered the option of bringing in a take away and using the dining area.
Very helpful staff, lovely comfortable old style hotel in the centre of Clifden. Outstanding restaurant and lovely unrushed dining experience. Top quality breakfast, I would highly recommend this Hotel if visiting Clifden.
Everything about this place was great, from the location and the design of the place to the people working there. We had the best evening in Clifden and an even better breakfast at the hotel on the next morning.
The Ardagh Hotel is excellent....lovely staff(especially Bruce the resident dog) great location, spotlessly clean and an extra mention for the chef who cooked wonderful meals. We really enjoyed our stay.
The innkeepers were friendly and knowledgeable about the town of Clifden. They provided a wonderful breakfast with many selections. Our room was very comfortable. It was a very easy walk into town.
The location was top notch to have a quick exploration of Clifden, and Des was exceptionally welcoming. We were able to set off for our road trip well rested and with a great breakfast.
The location is great. Only a short walk into clifden town. Amazing hosts and the place was immaculate. Couldnt have asked for anything more. Great for a couples retreat.
