Eden House, hotel in Carlingford

Offering a garden, Eden House features accommodations in Carlingford. This property offers access to a patio, tennis at the tennis court, free private parking, and free Wifi.

The house was massive and spotless. We loved having the place to ourselves rather than having the owner stay at the property. It was super comfy. The heating was on in alternative times and the house was super warm that we had to crack the windows open a bit. We visited the place in March, it was around 5-8 deg Celsius outside. It was super dark and we loved watching the stars from the property. It was like in a Dark Sky Reserve. Lovely place and Lovely people. Anne who manages the property was very polite and kind. And the town was super cute. It's better to get reservations at the hotels in the town as it usually gets crowded during the weekends.

Such a quaint little town perched on the waters edge.

Such a quaint little town perched on the waters edge. Lots of lovely restaurants serving lovely fresh seafood. And some quirky little shops. We ate lunch at PJ’s known for its oysters. And at the kingfisher bistro in the evening. Both served delicious food.

    Lovely apartment on the Lough.

Lovely apartment on the Lough. The hosts make full use of the space allowing a party of five to stay in comfort. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday night and several of the restaurants were closed which is such a pity which resulted in us having to get take out. The property is right at the entrance to the Greenway and the bike hire company there were great, reasonably priced and very pleasant

Visited Carlingford for a wedding in the Four Seasons Hotel, which is an excellent venue for such an occasion. Quaint small town which was easy to navigate with one way system around town centre. Ate lunch in Carlingford Arms - excellent service and tasty food except for too many onions in chicken curry. Great view of Carlingford Lough from Castle. Visited a few interesting antique shops.

Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small...

Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small town situated on Carlingford Lough that defines part of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. It's name reflects the fact that some of it's first tourists :) were the Vikings. Many buildings point to its historic past, most notably King John's Castle. It boasts a variety of restaurants and pubs serving good food, so whether your preference is "surf" or "turf" (or both !) you won't be disappointed. For something to bring home, there are lots of interesting options, including visiting the award winning Garrett Mallon Design House and bringing home one of his distinctive pieces of jewellery or the work of one of his fellow designers featured there.

Really welcoming staff and a beautiful setting – right next to town but on its own private little plot of land. This is a gem of a hotel! We were travelling with a toddler (never easy) but the staff made us feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Loved the short walk into the beautiful town of Carlingford and the harbour, we also had a lovely morning exploring the gardens around the hotel with our daughter. The delicious breakfast was the cherry on top :-)

Kitchen area with small fridge microwave and kettle was really handy ,we brought some food with us and was able to make sandwiches etc fridge was good to keep beer and food cool. Maybe abit over priced but we had an extra 2 single beds in the room so if we'd have brought the kids then it's a bargain .Good spot and will definitely return as hotel across the way was alot more expensive for the dates we stayed .

The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel on both evenings and it was delicious. We both thoroughly enjoyed Oven baked fresh hake with fresh prawns, mussels and spinach poached in white wine cream. Next evening my choice was from the specials, hake and mussels in pasta and hubby had the jumbo scampi, which was indeed as described and again both were delicious .

I would highly recommend this accommodation. It was of the highest standard in all areas of decor and cleanliness. They have literally thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay. Lots of little personal touches in the rooms that you would only expect in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was beautifully cooked. I would definitely return without hesitation to this Oasis.

Lynn and Johnny were wonderful hosts and were so kind! Lynn welcomed us there early after arriving on a night flight from the USA. We were all exhausted but she was so kind in her welcome. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent! Johnny served the food and was a source of information and welcome to Carlingford.

Hotel was beautiful, staff were very welcoming and professional. Staff appearance was very good. Uniforms etc. Location was brilliant, so close to the town. Room was spotlessly clean. Decor was very nice. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will be back and we are telling our friends to go there also.

Excellent location just outside Carlingford and Greenore. The lady of the house cooks a fine feed of breakfast. Much better than staying at a hotel and the room was massive. I plan to make a trip up for the Cooley poc fada in 2024. Please God this venue is available when I return.
