I was there primarily for a convention at the University, Cork itself is a picturesque city with a river flowing through it and many bars and restaurants - however - you do need to accept that food and drink will cost more (although this is a more universal feature of Ireland in general) and that accommodation, even in a guest house, can be pricey.

The good weather helped lot to walk around the city with a baby and we enjoyed pretty much all around. If you go there on weekend remember that on Sunday almost everything open very late and some attractions are completely closed (English market is closed on Sunday).
Anam Cara is beautifully decorated with a lovely common area and dining room. Our room was en-suite, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a good breakfast and there are vegetarian options. Aideen was a welcoming host and furnished us with plenty of tips of what to see in and around Cork. The hotel is convenient for the city centre and close to the English Market and bars, music and restaurants. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Cork.
Great location in walking distance of very many excellent Cork city centre restaurants, shops and other amenities. Nice clean room in a historic location, close to a number of interesting tourist attraction (Cork Butter Museum, The Firkin Crane Dance Auditorium, Shandon Steeple and the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Annes). Leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna and steam room was great.
Beautiful, recently renovated room, on ground floor
Breakfast room overlooks a tranquil river tributary
Freshly made coffee to order for breakfast
Bus from the city centre stops about a minute away
Access to water font and fridge at any time in commons room
Lovely quiet room, even though the B&B is right beside main road
Lionella, very helpful and welcoming. Thanks to all the staff
The property itself was more secluded than expected but still in a lovely area. It’s definitely a stay for someone who is not pushed about being in the heart of the city centre.
The staff were also some of the most accommodating, friendly and helpful that I have ever encountered in a hotel. They will go above and beyond and are certainly one of the main reasons I’ll be back.
The hotels strength is its staff who are all very friendly and helpful. It is ideally located with plenty of parking spaces and only a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Rooms are large and spacious with lovely high ceilings, most with a great view of the city, The lobby, bar, restaurant and terrace area are all attractive and comfortable.
Good location - just a short walk from City Centre. These are Student Dorms leased over the summer so they are a bit on the smaller side but were very clean and new! The room was pretty warm (unusually warm weather for Ireland ;) ) but they had fans available - you just had to leave a refundable deposit. Reception staff were great - thanks!
Located right next to the Cork Airport, the hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and it is quiet! We never heard a plane taking off or landing. The restaurant had very good food. We arrived mid-morning and even though check-in is at 3pm, they had rooms ready for us. If you want to go into Cork City however, it’s about a ten minute cab ride.
Room was spacious and all amenities expected were provided. The breakfast was great and the service staff was friendly and attentive. Location is perfect for those with a rental car touring Ireland as the hotel has parking on site. The River Lee Hotel is an excellent place to stay in Cork.
Compared to other hotels during our trip around Ireland, this one was like a factory. Plenty of people in every place, cue to the reception. However, it was modern, rooms of reasonable size, clean. Our room had a river view, so very pleasant.
Underground parking, good location.
The amenities were excellent and the location excellent for easy walks to many historical and cultural sites within Cork City. This was our fifth stay at this hotel. We highly recommend it for those looking for a centrally located hotel with great amenities at a reasonable price.
The location was great - right in the city centre and only minutes from good restaurants, pubs and shops.
We arrived early and the room was ready so we checked in straight away.
Hassle free check out too - we didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food
Free parking a bonus. Great location for the airport. Good restaurant choices at reasonable prices for an airport Hotel. Taxi, car or bus needed to reach city centre (about 8km). Rooms above average size.
Retro style hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was lovely, too. Location is excellent, next to train station and walking distance to city centre(bout 10 mins)
A well appointed modern hotel in a good location close to the city centre. A good base from which to explore the city. The staff were professional, very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is clean and comfortable, location very good to access Cork city centre and surrounds, staff are excellent and always very welcoming and helpful. Food is very good also.
Breakfast was very good. Hotel overall is cute. Nothing exceptional though. Location is nice just because it’s a 10min walk from city centre. Staff was semi-friendly but okay.
Convenient location for the city centre of Cork. Area has become more cosmopolitan since we were here pre Covid with more bars and restaurants to choose from near the hotel.
