Silken Thomas is a lovely place to stay for a short visit to Kildare. It is in a great location and near to Kildare Village, Japanese Gardens and The Curragh Racing Course. I would be happy to stay there again but on arrival I would check for a bath plug and no dangerous chairs.

We loved Kildare and would recommend, unfortunately it was rather wet so restricted our walking but still enjoyed. The pubs were fabulous, very friendly people, wished it was our last port of call in Ireland instead of the first as there is a huge designer outlet complex and no room to carry all the purchases I would have liked to indulge in 🤪

Lovely town, right next to Kildare outlet.
Lovely town, right next to Kildare outlet. There’s not a lot of bars and restaurants but it’s cosy and perfect for a quite night away. We stayed in the silken Thomas and ate and drank in their adjoining restaurant the food was lovely cocktails were ok. Would definitely stay again
What a lovely surprise when we walked into this room, was just beautiful. No breakfast included but hotel across the road did a great breakfast and plenty of other options in the the town. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We spent the day in the Irish National Stud and Gardens - a very enjoyable and educational afternoon. Had a lot of fun in the Irish Racecourse Experience, was not expecting the race at the end and to win! Plenty of good bars in Kildare and everyone so welcoming.
Kildare House Hotel is just brilliant, loved every minute of our 2 night stay. Hotel is gorgeous and cosy, great facilities, everything on your doorstep. The Gallop's Restaurant amazing, we eat both nights of our stay there as so good, and breakfast same, all gorgeous.
We had the pleasure to meet the owner Kelly also, so lovely and helpful, and runs a fantastic business. We are definitely going back and cannot wait till next time.

Perfect location in the center of lovely Kildare just steps from other pubs and the ancient cathedral. Rooms were 1,2,3 above the pub. I was worried about noise from the pub but the rooms are well sound insulated and the windows, too. I also really enjoyed the pub where I had a delicious dinner and enjoyed excellent service from the Irish staff. The manager, Mick, and the woman who greeted us and checked us in, Ellen, were all super.
The hotel was excellent. All services provided were top class from check in to dinner /breakfast. Fantastic dinner offer in hotel restaurant with a varied selection for everyone, and also varied breakfast menu. Staff were great and made sure that all Covid guidelines were adhered to. I really would recommend Kildare House Hotel . We will be back for a longer stay.
Property was beautiful, clean and had all the conveniences you would expect of a boutique hotel. Stunning view of St Bridget’s cathedral from our bedroom window. Our room was very cozy and the bed was so comfortable! Everyone who worked there was unbelievably helpful and accommodating. Isobel went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
Room is beautifully decorated. We stayed in a cute converted carriage house room. We stayed here because it was cheaper than staying in Dublin before an early morning flight. However, Kildare town itself doesn’t really have much to offer. This hotel is nice though!
This is definitely one of the nicest places to stay. Beds comfortable room spacious. Room emaculate. Service with a smile . And food lovely as well. Ony a 10 min walk to kildare village or you could drive . Free parking at hotel as well . Would highly recommend.
We spent our first two nights in Ireland at ‘The Old Goat House’ and don’t let the name fool you, it is so elegant. It was perfect in every way. The garden was a dream and the friendliness with beyond anything we expected
Cozy rooms with welcoming decor and unbeatable location in the main square of Kildare. Great (Thai!) food at the pub downstairs. It’s a popular spot for locals to watch the match, and to party on weekends.
We had a lovely stay at the Kildare house hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.
The food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely book another stay soon
Austin was incredibly friendly and was so nice to make us some delicious scones for breakfast. Very nice place with a convenient location as we were on our way from Dublin to the west of Ireland
Great choices for vegans - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very near to Kildare Village and also within walking distance to train station with frequent trains to Dublin, Galway and elsewhere.
Location is excellent, its a hidden gem. Its 4 minutes from Kildare Village Outlet and all other amenities are close by. Ros is an excellent host, very friendly and helpful.
Room was small, though not worse than expected.
Everything in the room was very clean.
The hotel was ideally located in Kildare and was very convenient to public transit.
Great hotel located above an artisan food shop. Brilliant location to the national stud and Kildare village. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. I would recommend
Highly recommended, the loft is cozy and really comfortable, it was super clean and the hosts were really kind. 5 minute walk from Kildare city in a very peaceful area.
