Portnoo is a great place to visit, it has a brilliant beach...
Portnoo is a great place to visit, it has a brilliant beach with low tide around 11.30 am allowing you to walk accross the beach to a small island which you can explore. Although as the tide starts to come in around 14.00 pm you need to find your way back to the mainland quite sharpish. The surrounding mountains coupled with the harbour and the large beach enables this area to be termed very scenic. Portnoo is just a 15min drive one way to Ardara and and the other direction 15min to Glenties, both are small towns with lots to offer.

The whole area is outstanding! Scenery is fabulous!
The whole area is outstanding! Scenery is fabulous! You can walk on the beach to the island when the tide is out! Portnoo golf club is excellent for meals as well as golf!! Plenty of walks etc! The Pub in the area had great Irish music & really friendly too.
