Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee.
Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee. Tea rooms not open at 11am on Thursday as suggested. Had a fab dinner at Monks and on a return visit next morning at 1130am had great tea n scones in front of blazing stove. Superb.

The hosts were very friendly right from greeting us upon arrival and giving us tips to serving us breakfast before we left. The full Irish breakfast was very good. We had dinner before arriving in Ballyvaughan, and only stayed for one night. We had a car, so it was easy for us to drive into the town centre from there. We would stay there again. We were given tips of sites to see when we left, and one we were glad not to miss was the Poulnabrone Portal tomb.

We only were able to stay one night.
We only were able to stay one night. It was a great launch pad for visiting the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The people were friendly, the food was great and the pub was fun with local, live music!
We recommend it!

The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers.
The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers. There are at least two good places to eat out.
Some side roads are in a poor state of repair. Clare County Council need to fill the pot holes and try and keep the roads in decent repair. This includes some access routes to this property.

A beautiful traditional Irish village with all you need for a comfortable varied stay in Ireland. Situated between the stunning Burren and the cliffs off the Atlantic Ocean, and nestled on the south side of Galway Bay, Ballyvaughan is ideally located. There are a lot of places to visit in the area. You can swim in the bay or on the nearby Bishop's Quarter beach. In Summer or Winter there are lovely places to visit and in Ballyvaughan alone, the fabulous Monk's seafood restaurant is a great spot with super friendly staff, a warm welcome and really fabulous food. I cannot wait to go back to Ballyvaughan!

there was a Match-making Festival happening in September in nearby villages of west of ireland, named biggest party for singles in the world. this was the best accommodation in terms of crowd-avoidance and distance from local attractions. we could have stayed little longer...
This hotel is on top of my list for our Ireland trip. While not convenient for a Galway visit, it's absolutely perfect to get away from it all. It's extremely charming, with views to die for and hosts that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The two "relaxation rooms" were always ready with a warm fire and it made for a perfect ending of a day spent sightseeing. I can't praise the hosts enough for their attentiveness and overall hospitality. The breakfast was excellent every morning. A true gem!
Very friendly reception. The landlady is cordial and willing to provide information. The rooms were spacious, clean and in a quiet location on the Cliffs of Moher.
The house is almost in the center of the village. Sea, restaurants and harbor are within very short walking distance. A grocery store for shopping is only 50 meters away.
Breakfast was extensive and very good.
We would try again to book this accommodation on a renewed trip to this place.
The location was perfect for our stay right in the centre of Ballyvaughan near to cafes and restaurants. The house was clean , bright and comfortable.
Only downside was our en-suite did not work during our stay. The owner was notified and said it would require to be checked by an electrician. In this instance we were lucky to be able to use the shower in the main bathroom as we were not sharing the house with anyone else.
Wolfgang and Maria have created an oasis on the Burren. They meticulously and was great effort created an amazing hotel. The accommodations were more than comfortable as well as the library, dining room and games room/bar. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Amazing friendly staff. Hope to be back someday. Built on three natural springs with the cleanest tasting water I have tasted.
Cappabhaile was in a beautiful location near to town with some nice restaurant choices. We were giving a very friendly welcome and treated to the BEST breakfast in two weeks in Ireland! We had to skip lunch! The room had a lovely view of the hills to enjoy a cup of tea. The beds were comfy and the room had a lot of space to relax. Overall it was a wonderful stay!
Ballyvaughan Lodge is an exceptional bnb. The attention to detail was phenomenal, and our stay felt very special. Gerry and Pauline are wonderful hosts and had fantastic recommendations for the local area. The room was fabulous and the breakfast is delicious, really sets you up for the day!
Hosts were very welcoming. Beautifully clean, appointed self catering Studio with fresh supplies of bread, milk, tea, coffee and cake. Perfect location for visiting Aillwee Caves and a good stop along The Wild Atlantic Way.
Lovely rural setting with a short drive to local town.
The location was terrific- walking distance to a couple of restaurants in the village, plus close to the bus stop if you are not driving. Breakfast was lovely with French press coffee, delicious cheeses and pastries, plus choice of eggs and bacon or an Irish breakfast.
Great staff. Nice room. Elevator available which is rare for a 3 story hotel and certainly a big plus for the elderly or less-mobile. Bar and restaurant on-site with very nice food. Limited vegetarian selection but the veg special was excellent the evening we visited.
Great location for our stay in Ballyvaughan, short walk to pubs and restaurants, and also the pier for sea kayaking. Lovely clean room. Plenty of parking on the drive. Felt safe to leave motorbikes there. Great breakfast. Friendly host.
Burren Court holiday homes are just up the hill from the beautiful Ballyvaughan , they are ideal for family holiday get together or small breaks away . comfy beds great walks nearby staff are very helpful can’t recommend enough .
Fanciest B&B out of 3 trips to Ireland. More formal with paid staff rather than just the owner doing all the work. The breakfast room is more like a restaurant with a huge buffet of fresh fruits and homemade fruit compotes.
The staff in Wild Atlantic Lodge were all extremely welcoming and helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on both mornings - fast, efficient and friendly service and delicious food with a great selection.
Thank you.
Breakfast was excellent. Loads of choice. All freshly cooked. As good as most hotels we've stayed in. Very good location to town. Minutes walk to restaurants etc. Very welcoming hosts.
