It's a pretty town and at one end of a walking/cycling Greenway with Athlone at the other end (about 46kms). I could definitely see taking my bike on the train from home to Athlone, biking the Greenway, taking a day or two to visit Mullingar, then the return trip to Athlone and home.

Mullingar is a very lively & musical town - always musical events going on. I was meeting an old friend for carvery lunch in Bloomfield. Although we dined at 12.15, the food was only warm, not hot! Dining situation was in the bar/lounge with beautiful view of lake & very comfortable seating. Serving staff extremely pleasant.
Mullingar is very easy to get around - fairly compact, but own car necessary. Plenty of parking available.
Next time I would demand to view my room before payment to make certain that I was not dumped in a childrens' room! There are other hotels.

I am from Mullingar so can highly recommend it.
I am from Mullingar so can highly recommend it. Lovely shops, bars and restaurants, beautiful scenery and friendly people. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. Easy access to motorways, public transport to Dublin. Close to lovely lakes and stately homes.
Stayed at Keyfield House for the last few days. We were given a warm welcome by Phyllis and appreciated the quiet house as we'd just flown in to Ireland. The room we were provided was just so comfortable and we had beautiful views through all our windows. Enda is a great host, the house feels like a lovely home away from home.
P.S: We enjoyed the beautiful continental breakfast with fresh fruit. Thank you Enda for the wonderful effort.
Loved the style of the hotel and our room. Since it is an old building, the rooms / suites have some unusual nooks and the floor is not always perfectly straight. The staff at the reception was very nice and the check in/out process was handled well and fast.
The location is well within the town center. The parking can be reached easily at the end of the side alley next to the hotel.
Fabulous hotel. Very near to Mullingar Town and Belvedere House & Gardens. Fabulous grounds of the hotel that brings you down to the lake. Food was lovely in the Bar and Breakfast was lovely. Great Variety. Leisure centre was lovely. Staff were lovely and friendly. Definitely recommend and will be returning in the future. Fantastic hotel for families and couples.
Attractive, with clear water fast moving creek between the hotel and a nice park. Easy parking. Spacious room and superbly comfortable bed. A large balcony overlooking the park. A glazed window in our bathroom for fresh air. Delicious full breakfast in a warm, inviting restaurant in the historic stone house area of the hotel.
Central location for the town. Room was large with multiple USB charge points and flat screen tv. Bathroom was slightly dated but clean and well maintained. Room was warm with the radiators easily adjustable. Gated car park to rear of the hotel although spaces appeared limited.
Room was nice and clean and so was the en suite.
Breakfast the next morning was very good and cooked fresh for us. Better than most hotels. The location was perfect, right in the town center and had enough parking for residents. Was very happy with my stay there.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room has a setup for coffee and tea as well as a small refrigerator. We had the corner room overlooking the roundabout. It was spacious with lots of windows and a good view of the center of town.
The bloomfield hotel offered us the biggest hotel room we were ever been. Very spacious, with a lake view.
Good food in the restaurant and of course swimming pool and sauna.
The guesthouse was immaculately clean and well equipped. The owners also very kindly gave me a lift into the town to the event I was attending. 5 stars all round 🤗
Friendly, approachable, and professional. Very inclusive for all classes, and down to earth. I would recommend this hotel for relaxation and a place to stay.
