What an amazing, quaint town. We wished we had been there longer. There are plenty of places to visit, including the Rock of Cashel, the surrounding countryside is idyllic and there are plenty of bars and restaurants too chose from.
The people are bar far the absolute friendliest I have ever met.
The locals, once met, remember you the next day and say hello and stop to chat - you literally feel like you live there - I really did not want to leave and am already planning another visit - will be staying at the Baileys hotel again too - what an absolute diamond find that place was too
Places to eat & drink - there are plenty more but these are ones we went into:
Baileys cellar bar and Restaurant
Daverns Bar & Restuarant
Mikey Ryan's bar & Restaurant
Feehans
Some of the Quaint Irish pubs (not all listed but there are plenty more that looked lovely)
T J Ryan’s
Brosnans
Bill Foleys Bar & Lounge
Cocktail bar:
City Bar
Avoid:
The Brian Ború - bit of a dump compared to the rest of the places available to you
You don’t need a car to get around Cashel but one is needed to explore surrounding areas

We drove from Dublin to Kilkenny and then to Cashel.
We drove from Dublin to Kilkenny and then to Cashel. We stayed overnight in Cashel and visited The Rock of Cashel first thing in the morning. We then drove off to Cork.
We should've stayed in Kilkenny and then drove to Cashel in the morning as the town of Cashel was a huge disappointment. We walked around and around trying to find a place to eat - only a few places are open for dinner after 5 resulting in long waiting times at the 1 place we could get in to. We kept passing the same people walking around trying to find a place to eat at (other than take out pizza). We went into a few pubs while we waited for dinner but they were dark, smoky, and not worth even getting a beer at. A pretty unpleasant little town.

The Rock is a very easy walk.
The Rock is a very easy walk. When you get to the top take all the tours you can. The tour guides that we have meant in Ireland are to me the best in the world. They All have such passion for their country and responsibilities. If your into photography the sky and light change by the hour and can give you wonderful results. We will truly miss this place and its views.

It was such a nice well kept city!
It was such a nice well kept city! The people seemed very kind. We loved the Rock of Cashel tour and visit to the Abby. It was such a fascinating place! I took a walk around the city and enjoyed the history and architecture on each block.

Cashel is a must-see stop in any tour of Central Ireland.
Cashel is a must-see stop in any tour of Central Ireland. Not only is the monument here remarkable, but the town is centrally located in an area surrounded by other sites within an hour’s drive or so, including Kilkenny and Cahir. We chose to stay here for that reason, and it worked out really well for us.
We also recommend drives in the country around Cashel. Very very charming.
Can’t speak to the restaurants, but there are several very good groceries close to the town: Aldi, Supervalu, and Tesco.

For historians and history buffs, Cashel is a must-see stop.
For historians and history buffs, Cashel is a must-see stop. The Rock is a classic example of medieval Irish castles, and the chapel in particular is remarkable.
And there are two Sheela-na-gigs! (Look it up….) one on the Rock, and one in the posh hotel in the village.
Kindly upgraded to better room at no further cost, very dog friendly, nice enclosed courtyard area, nice homely lounge + kitchen, friendly Staff all around - would highly recommend. Good location for rock of Cashel and lots of great eateries around.
On a side note, we really struggled to find a dog friendly restaurant where we would not be freezing cold outside. But we stumbled greatfully onto Mikey Ryan's just next door for dog friendly outside seating (heated outdoors) + great food.
Aldi and Tesco just a walk away also
The parking and accessibility of the area was great. The staff was open for late check out and had great communication abilities. The location is a few minutes away in car from the Rock of Cashel, without the noise of the city. The continental breakfast was inside the small kitchen for you to prepare whenever you like it. The check in process was a breeze with clear instructions to do it quickly without any physical interaction with the staff.
The home was bright, cheerful and well decorated. Bedroom was spacious and beds comfortable.
There was an upstairs sitting room where you could enjoy the view of the beautiful garden while partaking in a glass of water, coffee or tea and a homemade snack. The breakfast was fantastic. A wonderful host the best welcome and B&B we had in Ireland. Parking on site. Close to restaurants and within walking distance of the Rock of Cashel.
Keys were at bar below the unit, which was very quiet below us. Had a free cocktail for all of us which was made to order with great care and was delicious. Walking distance to local food and shopping. We walked to the Rock of Cashel (a GREAT experience) from the unit, very easy and no more than 20 minute walk with our kids. Loved this unit!
This was an easy walk to a local pub and several take away resturants. It is at the far end of the downtown area for the town with the Rock of Cashel. It was nice to have our own rooms after 5 days of sharing rooms with adult children. It would perfect for families with younger children as they had highchair , easel, swinger & ride on toys.
The location was excellent, close to the Rock of Cashel. But our room was up about three flights of narrow, steep stairs, and that was not easy for us. The staff was helpful, however, with hauling our luggage up and down. On-street parking was difficult to figure out and find. The town had great pubs and restaurant options.
Everything! Property was a beautiful gem we happened upon for our first ever bed and breakfast experience. The breakfast was amazing and the conversation was great. We learned a lot about the area and the history of the house. Hope to visit Noan Country House again if we ever make it back to Ireland!
The house is located at 5 minutes walking distance from Cashel Rock, in a very quiet area and well connected to the main roads. Trim Castle can be easily reached.
The room was small but clean and comfortable.
Good breakfast with a fine selection of food.
Stayed at Kingston House while attending a wedding in Cashel
Located in a quiet area just outside the town
Excellent self contained self catering chalet with continental breakfast
Excellent hosts friendly and so helpful
Would highly recommend
Probably our best accommodation in Ireland, so nice clean and cosy. Very good location, near to the town center and so close to the Rock of Cashel. Perfect for a stay with two kids. It was so nice to find Marmite in the kitchen !
Fantastic location! Copperfield House is within walking distance to town and the Rock of Cashel. The host was delightful and helped book dinner both nights we were there. Our room was a generous size and the bed was cozy.
The B&B was quiet, comfortable and a very quick and easy walk to the Rock of Cashel. Our host Patrick offered a full Irish breakfast along with a variety of extras such as brown bread , cheese , yogurt and cereal.
Staff were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was good. They also let us keep the car in the garage after check-out so we could see the rock of Cashel and then come back and get the car.
Beautiful accommodation, exceptional level of service from a fabulous host. Afternoon tea and breakfast was just wonderful. We will be back for a longer stay next time we’re in Ireland.
Location was amazing! directly across from the Abby and walking distance to The Rock of Cashel. My daughter liked the little playground they had for kids as well.
