Roscommon is a lively town with great bars and restaurants mixed with historical interest and lovely, scenic walks plus near the River Shannon. Plenty of shops, all close by with a large shopping centre. Would recommend all to visit. The Coachman's Inn is a fabulous place to stay with great rooms and a big welcome.

Beautiful building with great fitness facilities.
Beautiful building with great fitness facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We were travelling through the area and only had one night to go to the Roscommon Race Track. Enjoyed our stay except our 5' 10" teenage granddaughter wasn't allowed in the fitness area even though she was accompanied by her mother and uncle.

Part of the real Irish experience- not just the 15 min here and move on tourist spots. Can get around area by train or bus. Castle in Roscommon, Westport, and Athlone were some of my favorite spots and easy to access by nice train system that was accessible, affordable & easy to use. I wish I could have stayed 2 more days to enjoy the music festival in Mullingar. Best places to eat were Molloys ,Gleeson’s, Reagan’s Gastro Pub in Roscommon and Les Petite Tartes in Athleague

Like all towns in Ireland, shopping seems to have moved to the edge of town. The centre of Roscommon town is nearly finished a re-vamp by the local council and this will be of great benefit when finished.

Rocommon is a lovely town.
Rocommon is a lovely town. We visited two bars Larry's Bar and the Railway bar. Staff in both bars were very friendly especially the owner of The Railway Bar which we visited twice. We had a meal in 'FUSION' which was very nice.
The hotel was very warm, cosy, clean and inviting! The staff were very helpful. The purpose of my trip was to treat my Aunt to her 80th Birthday surprise Hotel stay! She loved it! We were given two lovely rooms (33 & 34)! The staff even gave my Aunt a surprise Birthday card and Bottle of Champers! The staff could not have been more helpful and kind. We enjoyed an evening meal in the bar and the breakfast was also great. Thank you Abbey Hotel. We will be back!
The Inn had recently been renovated and was beautiful inside and out. All new carpets, wall decor, doors, bathrooms, every attention to detail was made. Michael, the bar/inn manager was so friendly and welcoming. He helped us decide on food for dinner and was very warm. Inn was perfectly located in town, easy walk to shops, coffee, and both the Abbey and Castle, which we were excited to see.
The location in Roscommon was perfect. The facilities were nice, and also comfortable. The staff seemed stressed out and somewhat unfriendly most of the time, but to be fair, it was St. Patrick’s Day, then there was a large wedding, then Mother’s Day was the next day. after that, they seemed relieved and were much friendlier. Overall, it was a great place and we enjoyed our stay.
Comfy, cozy, quaint old hotel. Not fancy but very clean. Breakfast was one of the best-the sunflower seed brown bread is unbelievable. The staff was just lovely. We got into Ireland at 530 am and drove to Roscommon. We were allowed to check way before time to catch a map.
Very spacious comfortable accommodation. All bedrooms had there own bathroom.
Two sitting rooms useful for big family.
Owners very friendly and helpful. Nice pub with good food nearby. A short drive to Roscommon and Athlone fairly close for shopping.Hope to return .
The location is great, in the centre of Roscommon on the Market Square. There are plenty bars and restaurants to choose from in the immediate area. The room was large and well appointed, although the shower cubicle was very small and not the best shower unit.
The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating to us. The room is quite spacious with a big ensuite. Mary kindly allowed us use of her oven for pizza's. Lovely lovely people house is in a gorgeous location as well very close to both Athlone and Roscommon.
Very beautiful rooms with modern conveniences and elegant decor. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food was exceptional and bar was wonderful. Perfect location for touring Roscommon
The rooms were so well decorated and cosy. A real home from home experience. Food in bar was delish. More like a boutique hotel than a townhouse and bar. 5 star experience!
