Amazing little town, nestled in the mountains on the banks of a v fast flowing river. Staff were ever so helpful, nothing was a problem. It was a v pleasant surprise to have access to the swimming pool next door. The castle across the street is v interesting and free to enter. We loved energy thing about this hotel and the live traditional music at night made for a very relaxing stay. Definitely recommend a visit😁

North west Donegal has spectacular beaches without any doubt. There are far too many houses built on land that has sea views, this has to be ignored by any visitors.
The Fanad peninsula was the best place, not as developed.

Donegal is one of the loveliest parts of Ireland and always worth a visit, from the wild countryside to Errigal mountain and the rugged coastline. The people are very friendly and welcoming. This was a short visit, but I have been before and stayed longer.

O' Donnell castle or Donegal castle was the highlight of our stay, plus a visit to Slieve League, as it was raining so much we just travelled around in the care, taking in the views as we could. Donegal is a great County to visit but you need the sunshine to see it at its best. If you visit Ireland, Donegal is a must place to go. Tara Hotel in Killybegs is the place to have your meals, great food great staff.

If you plan to tour County Donegal take your time and look behind the "usual" tourist spots as there's lots of little gems to be found. Don't just follow the crowd on the WAY trail and ticking the box ! Scenery is stunning and some off road sandy beaches are amazing.
Good quiet cosy little bungalow, with everything you need for a wee self catering break away ,warm and quiet with the option of having a real fire it suited us perfectly as we were attending the harvest rally and didn't want to be in a hotel in town as parking is a nightmare, we fitted two cars into our yard easily ,situated just off the n56 killybegs road it offers easy access to donegal town ,the fishing port of killybegs and a great base for touring donegal County,
The location is a tiny slice of heaven. 10 minutes out of Donegal Town on a winding road in the trees. The vet from the property over Lough Eske is incredible! The garden and grounds are stunning and it gives a fairytale feel to the entire stay.
We were the only 2 guests that night and the owner couldn't have been nicer! She made a beautiful breakfast for us, a good strong cup of coffee and terrific conversation! I would go back here in a heartbeat!!!
Jenny, the host, was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our daughter got to feed the animals on the farm and there was orange juice, milk, butter in the fridge. We had fresh farm eggs and bread as well as fruit and snacks. The cabin is beautiful and well kitted out. It is close to Rossnowlagh and Murvagh beaches - excellent for swimming and surfing - and sits between Donegal Town and Ballyshannon.
Excellent location for visiting Donegal Town - only a few minutes walking distance. A wonderful restaurant (part of an hotel) is just opposite - a minutes walk. Great for meals and drinks.
Stella's breakfast is outstanding - homemade oatmeal bread and marmalade - absolutely delicious - I asked for the recipe, can't wait to try it myself.
Stella has a shop in the town - a must to visit! The town is beautiful and the Castle is spectacular.
Jack and his family are incredible hosts. We were greeted upon arrival and given wonderful recommendations on the area. We were able to park our car at the property and walk into town daily. There was a mini fridge in our room, coffee and tea, and something brought to our door each morning for breakfast. This is more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. We had a wonderful time!
House was perfect for our stay in Donegal for a wedding at Lough Eske Castle which is only 10 mins drive away. House was very spacious and homely, nice comfy beds and had everything we needed. The host, Joy, was amazing, she kept in touch with us the whole time and was so helpful. The house is right in Donegal Town so a few minutes walk to the shops and pubs 😊
It was a great location right near the center of Donegal. We found an excellent pub “the reel inn” nearby with traditional music and had a great time. There was great secure storage for our bicycles which was important for us as we were cycle touring around Ireland.
Have visited a few times before and as good as ever. Welcoming & friendly staff, pleasant restaurant and excellent breakfasts. General ambience in the hotel is great. Hotel ideally placed for short walk into town and for driving north or south to explore Donegal.
Beautiful hotel. Room was massive. Extremely comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, gave us great suggestions to check out in the town. The Blas restaurant attached was phenomenal as well. Will definitely be back here next time I'm Donegal!
Great location in Donegal. Just a 10 minute walk to the local town for pubs, restaurants and shops. We unfortunately staying out of season, so a lot of places were closed. The hotel restaurant shut at 5pm. Free parking.
The hotel has a great location near Donegal Castle. Our room had the bonus of having a view of the water. Room was spacious and well appointed. We chose this hotel because of its location and it did not disappoint.
It was quiet, cozy, peaceful, had a great breakfast, and was my favorite place we stayed on our trip to Ireland. would stay here again absolutely if i'm lucky enough to come back to Donegal.
Fantastic property, homely and nice view. Owner met us on site and had left milk and cake - perfect for large family get together not far from Donegal town
