Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice. There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs. Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day. Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.

Kinsale is a picturesque hilly harbourside town with great shops and restaurants. We had beautiful weather enjoyed walking around the town and took the harbor cruise. There were lots of good restaurants (a few require reservations way ahead), lively pubs, and various take-away food options. We stayed 2 nights, but only had 1 full day to explore the town. The roads into town are extremely steep & narrow, so we were happy to be able to park once at our guest house and not drive again till we left. Taxis are almost impossible to find. We ate at Fishy Fishy (had reservations months ahead) our first night and at the Blue Haven Restaurant & Bistro the second night. The live music was great. We heard great things about the Ghost Tour, but didn't have time for that. Parking can be an issue so make sure your guesthouse/hotel has parking. Stop at the Tourism office for great suggestions.

It is a beautiful village on a bay with an old-world charm.

It is a beautiful village on a bay with an old-world charm. It can be quite busy as it is rightly popular. Lots of local shops, pubs and restaurants, all with an authentic feel. Beside the harbour, their are two marinas, two castle ruins and a lovely beach. It is also near the beginning of the Wild Atlantic Way which runs clockwise round the west coats of Ireland. 25 minutes from Cork airport, this place is a real gem

We really liked Kinsale, it was a trip down memory lane for my 89 year old dad. we went on a private cruise up the Bandon & a harbour cruise which was also great, where we saw Summer Cove, Charles and James Fort and listened to the fascinating history, we had a mead tour which was lovely & really interesting and we brought a few bottles of yummy mead. We did a bit of shopping, lots and lots of walking, scrumped the most delicious sweet figs over hanging from fig trees on the winding paths, and just had a lovely time.

We had a very enjoyable 1 night stay during our road trip of Ireland The accommodation was very good. High end, comfortable and clean Very helpful receptionist on arrival. No parking at the hotel but the car park is about 5 minutes walk and it was free The location is superb. Lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants and lots of venues playing Irish music. December 2023. Enjoyed another visit to the Trident Hotel after our first stay over 30 years ago. Of course the hotel has been updated but the essential character remains. Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. Accommodation. Good sized, quiet and well appointed room. Air conditioning. Large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Comfortable bed. Great view over Kinsale Bay from the third floor room. Well worth the additional cost.

Perryville House is an exceptional property. The beds are super comfortable, and the rooms are peaceful and a very nice size. We enjoyed the central location and were able to park near the hotel. The owners are wonderful, very charming, and gave my husband and I recommendations for our morning run. The delicious breakfast is not to be missed and the table service was top notch. We hope to go back sometime in the near future!

Such a charming spot. We stayed at so many different places on our time in Ireland - the two nights in the apartment above Daltons Bar was by far the best one. Location is perfect and the bar felt like our home base. The price was reasonable and we felt like we had so much space- more than expected! Even though the Daltons were out of town the bar staff was very welcoming.

We had a large comfortable room with river views from the balcony. There was a fabulous choice at breakfast from fresh fruits, various cereals and yoghurts followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice. Best white pudding we have tasted. If you like walking there is a scenic walk from the hotel into the town of Kinsale with incredible views of harbour.

Great space if you are travelling with kids, gives you freedom to be able to relax with it out having the kids confined to a hotel room. Location is great as you are a short walk to some of the best restaurants Kinsale has to offer. The owner Michael was great to deal with and very helpful. My family and I will definitely be returning

The location of the hotel is superb The hotel was very clean and you got the impression at all times that great care was being taken. Very well managed. Very good value-not sure how much that was influenced by Covid?

Lovely welcome from all staff. Room was spotless and comfortable. Best breakfast experience. The pancakes and fried breakfast were amazing! Only stayed one night but would stay longer in the future if visiting Cork again. Two parents and two children in a family room worked well. My 7 year old said he liked our “hotel house” the best.

The design and attention to detail, as well as effort put in the little (but noticeable) amenities the owner has granted his guests, made this stay an exceptionally pleasant travel destination. Located near plenty of Kinsales best Pubs, Restaurants and leisure locations, it is the perfect get-away for a trip to Kinsale.
