The cottage has good heating. It is in a peaceful and quiet location, with ample parking. The host has thoughtfully provided olive oil, butter, cooking foil, salt and pepper, tea and coffee, little touches that are very much appreciated. She was only a phone call away, to explain how to turn on the heating. The property is old fashioned, but has cable tv, an odd, but nice, contradictory touch .

The apartment was fully furnished with high end sofas, beds, bed linen, towels etc. The heating was on a timer and came on throughout our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and they had even left coffee, tea, sugar etc. It was a two minute walk to The Heritage Hotel which we ate in (gorgeous food) and there are plenty of lovely walks in the area. The apartment even has a lift! A beautiful apartment to stay in. We will definitely be back again soon.

Was our 2nd choice as I bungled the original booking at another venue. But so glad I did, as this hotel turned out to be exceptional, and beyond what we expected. Upon arrival, we were met by the friendly Joanna and Siobhan, and made to feel right at home. When entering our room, we were immediately impressed with the size, and the décor, plus an impressive bathroom. Went for a swim and hot tub, and then off to dinner at Seven, which offered generous portions, tasty as well, and at reasonable prices. Breakfast was great, and the staff at Blakes were also super friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, and will definitely return again.NeilIreland - 6.0Scored 6.0

Beautiful location and hotel. Our problem was the room was like a sauna so much so we couldn’t use the twin room and had to sleep in the living room. So disappointed for us. Also lift access not working!! Poor! We did notify the receptionist o checking out

Our stay in the Heritage Hotel was relaxing and very enjoyable.The restaurant in the hotel was first class.The spa experience at the hotel is to be recommended for both young and old.There is also a swimming pool and jacuzzi.For those who play golf there is an excellent golf course.There is a five kilometre walking track around the golf course.Bicycles are available in the locality.There are many interesting places to visit locally.I would recommend Emu Court.Mary - 8.0Scored 8.0

I had a wonderful overnight stay at the hotel while attending a conference in Portlaoise which is only 20 mins away by car. The breakfast in the morning was very good for the buffet selection and the scambled eggs were very tasty. I played the championship golf course the next day which was in remarkable condition considering the time of year and look forward to both a return stay and another round. Unfortunately time did not permit a visit to the Spa other than a quick walk around - definitely up for a visit next time.

Lovely two nights at the heritage. The staff were very friendly and welcoming in particular the receptionist. The room was spacious and completely exceeded our expectations. We had food at the bar and in the terrace area which had a lovely atmosphere. The 5km perimeter walk around the golf course was stunning. The pub - The thatch was very cosy and a lovely place for an evening drink. The leisure centre had everything you needed. The hotel is only approx 20 minutes from Kildare villagae. Would highly recommend.

There is also a bus that runs to EP from the Heritage hotel across the road so you have that option too if you don't want to drive.
