Michael and Ann were wonderful hosts. His guidance on a sunny day in May afforded us the opportunity to see some wonderful sights in Connemara that otherwise we would not have seen. Ann’s scones at breakfast were an added plus. Being just south of Galway, it was well positioned for us to visit the Cliffs of Moher, some Celtic crosses, Doolin, and the Burren.

Quite a grand hotel, which has a restaurant and a good leisure centre with helpful staff.
The suite I stayed in had a king size bed, bedside lamps, small sofa and chair and a circular table. It had air-con but I did not use it - the window had louvre shutters and would open, which I preferred to do, rather than use the air-con.
There was no view, as there was a screen of artificial ivy arranged outside, in front of the window, but it was quite pleasant.
The decor was of a good standard and of a subdued beige, brown and sage green - calming but evocative of the 70s. It could use some bright scatter cushions to bring it up to date.
I only breakfasted once but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a wide range of possibilities, through the traditional Irish to continental options. It is also possible to buy a ground coffee, rather than the usual hotel instant, at an additional cost of €2.60.
There are tables outside the front of the building which make a welcoming area to meet for coffee or drinks in the pleasant green surroundings of mature trees, shrubs and garden.
It is a short walk to the nearest precinct ('Joyce's) which has supermarkets, clothing retailers, a newsagent a bakery and a Costa Coffee - a good option for an alternative breakfast.
The bus stop for the Cliffs of Moher is just outside Joyce's, on the same side. Just across the road is a garden containing the spring/well which gives Oranmore its name ('More = well). Beside it is the bus stop to Galway city - buses run at about 20- minute intervals.

Very nice town with easy access to Galway city and surrounding areas. We took the local bus into Galway city which was great as we did not have to worry about parking. Buses run to schedule. Spent some time in Oranmore village which was lovely.

Oranmore has plenty to see and do, and is withing driving distance of other tourist attractions such as the Burren, Doolin, Galway City and many others.
There are plenty of pubs and restaurants, so choice is plentiful.
Unfortunately the hotel we stayed in were devoid of any human compassion when I contracted covid and due to that experience, I would not stay there again, however much it was value for money. There is no monetary price on basic human kindness, otherwise known in the industry as hospitality.

Not recommended for couples or anyone who wants a quiet night to sleep.
Arrived on Thursday the 11th of November 2021, my birthday. Planned a 2-night getaway with my boyfriend for my birthday. I wanted to have a nap because we had a long day. However, kids were running through hallways and in the room upstairs from ours and knocking at people doors. When my boyfriend went up to reception, they said they couldn't do anything because it was only 6 pm. Fair enough. Didn't go out because I couldn't sleep and was too tired. Tried to sleep at 9 pm but the children upstairs were still running and jumping about. At 11 pm it didn't get less noisy and I went to the reception to complain. The night staff were very helpful and the noise stopped immediately. The next day and night, the exact same story. The other night staff were also very helpful. However, a guest shouldn't need to complain about noise in the first place. I also wear earplugs and I could still hear the noise, I think that says enough about the loudness. When we checked out on Saturday morning, the girl at the reception asked if I enjoyed my stay and I said it was alright except for the lack of sleep caused by the noise. She replied, "oh yes, there are a lot of rooms with kids upstairs". She didn't say anything, did not apologise or anything and let me pay 6 euro for 2 swimming hats, which you apparently needed to bring if you want to use the pool, otherwise, you need to pay for them. A tip to the manager of this place: don't put families with children upstairs or don't put couples right underneath them.
Furthermore, the pool was nice, breakfast was good. However, the girl who worked on Friday morning should not be taking orders, her English is not good enough and could not understand anything we said, we didn't get what we ordered that morning.
We couldn't have stayed in a better place for our family trip to Galway to meet my daughter. The house was exceptional and so peaceful and quiet - a wonderful experience. The owner Michael was great to deal with and so helpful. Lovely walks nearby with an abundance of blackberries along the way. Can very highly recommend !
Accomodation was very cozy, breakfast superb, the pancakes were delicious. Ann and Michael are top notch hosts, very friendly and heart-warming people. Totally recommend this location and, if we are ever coming back to the Galway area, Oranhill Lodge Gueshouse would be the go-to choice
Michael and Ann were so friendly and hospitable. We really enjoyed our conversations with them and appreciated the recommendations on where to park in Galway and eat in Oranmore. Breakfast was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Great value. We would happily stay there again!
Great place. Very familiy friendly. Rocky the golden retriever was a very big hit with the kids. As was the pool table! Location super- near Galway city and Oranmore itself was a lovely town. Seamus was really helpful and friendly. Our dog was very welcome and enjoyed her stay too.
The location is excellent as is is fairly close to Galway where we were visiting. The house was beautiful with plenty of room, and the instructions were plentiful and clear. Everything was clean and spacious and beautifully furnished.
Lots of breakfast options. Parking lot next to building. Easy walk to bus #404 into Galway (approximately 35 minutes). Hotel is an easy drive to the major motorways without getting stuck in Galway traffic.
Lovely stay at this cosy place. The room and bathroom was clean. It is ideal for someone visiting Galway city and looking for a cheaper accomodation outside the city. The place has onsite parking.
The hotel is located in the lovely village Oranmore on the outskirts of Galway City that has numerous bars & restaurants. The hotel is lovely & clean, and the staff were very friendly & apologetic
Good base of operations to tour around western Ireland. Staff were very friendly, and size of room was great. Good job on cleanliness of room as well. In-room tea brewer was a nice bonus to have.
The restaurant was excellent! Breakfasts were hard to resist. Great location to stay outside of Galway with parking on site and a lovely bar/restaurant and terrace to sit in the evenings.
The breakfast was delicious! Location a city bus ride to Galway City Center. Not bad at all! Very quiet and clean place! Friendly husband and wife run!
