The last time I stayed in Bunbeg was 12 years ago and it has become very run down with quite a few places closed but this would also be impacted by the restrictions etc due to Covid. It's fine if you want to get away from it all.

We loved everything about Bunbeg, lovely coastal area with a fabulous stunning large beach. Where Bad Eddie's boat wreck is a must to see. We dined at Sean Og bar and restaurant - fabulous food. You can visit Gola Island, Cruit Island is nearby too. Walking will give you plenty of beautiful scenery. Just loved it.

First, you need a car!
First, you need a car! The beaches and scenery are spectacular and uncrowded. The people are friendly and welcoming. Within a 15 mile radius there are some great eating establishments. Generally pubs with great craic and music. Love the area.

They did a great breakfast and staff were very friendly and welcoming. They didn't do an evening meal as this was the end of the season but there was loads of choice in the village. I particularly enjoyed the wee bar where you could enjoy a drink and a friendly chat with Andy ( Owner) and other guest swopping stories of your days adventure.

There were no restaurants nearby but they did offer to drive us (we walked about 20 minutes). We had a very special evening of music at a nearby pub (10 minutes away), ‘Teach Hiudi Beag’ that was the highlight of our bicycle tour through Ireland (5 1/2 weeks). Check it out if you are in the area; they play Monday and Friday.
