The staff welcomed me and my service dog. They told me about the History of the Rockfield House and were delighted to have us. The serenity and peacefulness of the grounds were exactly what we needed. I loved the big comfy bed, the large bath, the old fashioned bath tub, and most of all the livingroom and all its grandeur and history. It was absolutely marvelous.

Edita was very warm and communicative with us from the beginning. The check in process was really smooth and she even helped us get to the wedding we were attending down the road. The space was almost as amazing as she was. I had never stayed in a place like this before and it was great experience. The room was clean and cozy and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay and the breakfast was just what we needed. I would recommend this place to folks who are looking to explore a bit more of the rural side of Ireland. Coming from Dublin for our first two nights, the grass, cabin and pond were magical. Thanks son much Edita for going out of your way to make our visit wonderful, we really appreciate you! A++++

Stayed in the headfort arms for our 12 year anniversary, arrived and was given an upgrade on our room we wore delighted! (we stayed in room 2). The lady at the reception checking us in was lovely very informative and had a laugh with us, I never caught her name unfortunately. We ate in the Vanilla Pod restaurant I'm sure it was called, the food, drinks and service wore lovely. Breakfast was fast and very tasty! Downfall unfortunately for us was our sleep, the windows in the room did let alot of street noise in and possibly heat out as it did get cold even with the rad on full. The pillows in our room wore awful, 4 pillows on the bed 2 of them folded like paper and the other 2 wore like a brick, we didn't get a good nights sleep at all sadly, we also had a coffee machine with plenty of options for tea & coffee but no cups in the room to make any. Due to the lack of sleep I'm not sure I'd come back to stay which is a same as the hotel itself is fabulous.

Kells is a lovely village, made even more special by its people. Since we were there for a wedding, there was only enough time to walk its cobblestone streets. We stayed and ate at The Headfort Arms, a charming hotel with excellent food and every modern amenity. I recommend Hairitage, a beauty salon across the street from the hotel. Loved the stylists and the outcome!
We were so delighted with this fabulous house. It was better than expected, the house is beautifully furnished and all the little detailed furnishings are really special. The owner June had kindly baked us fresh bread and cake for when we arrived and left us supplies for breakfast. The place is very peaceful and the perfect location for visiting our family in Kells. Would highly recommend and will return.
The breakfast was ok. The 2 girls working there were lovely and very helpful. The house and rooms are lovely but if you don't have a car, you are reliant on a taxi. The taxi drive into Kells is only 4 min (10€) but it is not walkable due to the layout of the roads. Lynch's taxi service was great as there was a lady driver who I felt very safe with, especially at night, when travelling as a woman on my own.
The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and seemed very busy for Tuesday night.
The bar food was delicious.. the prawns excellent.
Our room was on the first floor and had a large bathroom with a large shower and separate bath.
The bed was comfortable and the breakfast super. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Will definitely stay again.
The room was perfect size, clean, and quiet. The hotel was in a perfect location, walkable to all city center locations. We had breakfast in the morning and it was wonderful! The meal was quickly prepared and very tasty. The staff was very pleasant and helpful! Parking was directly behind the hotel and very accommodating.
The staff were lovely, the bar food was lovely, also the atmosphere in the lounge is nice and I was able to bring the rest of my bottle of wine into the bar next door where there was music on. There is also a nice selection of breakfast options, not just the usual fry up offered in many hotels.
Would highly recommend a stay here, all the benefits of a hotel but with the extra benefit of a family run venue, very welcoming warm atmosphere and beautiful decor... Room was bigger than most and the hosts were so nice would definitely stay again thanks for a lovely stay ☺️
This was a clean, comfortable small hotel right in the heart of Kells. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The lounge/restaurant was very nice, and the staff were great. Free parking was available behind the hotel.
Lovely country setting. Nice place to stay on our way back to Dublin airport. Large comfortable room. Beautiful country roads and landscape. Nice pub for dinner in nearby Old Castle. Included Breakfast is made to order.
Excellent stay. Beautiful interior, amazing breakfast and great value. You will not find all of that together in any hotel I guess. Place to return to. Magical bathroom. Next time I will discover one of the other rooms.
Staff were really nice. Food was great. Music on the Saturday night was fun! Great atmosphere around the hotel in general. Really enjoyed our stay. Will certainly return. Great value for money too. Thank you!
Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and freshly prepared. Very friendly welcome and easy access to nearby hotel for a wedding. Beautiful location too. Would definitely return if in the area.
The location was quiet, great outlook. To be honest we ate some of the breakfast the night before. We were going to the Kells road race. We had to be in there before the roads closed at 8 o'clock!!!
Beautiful restored house. Comfortable beds. Best towels in Ireland! First place in three weeks to have Kleenex in the room and cloth napkins at breakfast.
Friendly, helpful owners.
David and Avril are lovely hosts. Fantastic breakfast. Comfy beds and the space is pretty! David pointed us to a great pub where we thoroughly enjoyed the Trad band.
What a pleasant stay in the middle of our trip to Ireland. We had a warm welcome, complete with freshly baked warm brown bread! Everything was perfect!
