Lettergesh, Glasilaun and Dogs Bay beaches are all beautiful. Connemare National park / Diamond Hill walk are great for exercise and scenery, (weather permitting). If the weather lets you down, head for the pub for a nice quite pint.

We stayed in Letterfrack for the Tour of Connemara cycle.

We stayed in Letterfrack for the Tour of Connemara cycle. The holiday cottage accommodation was lovely, very clean and spacious, and walking distance to the pub / restaurant. On the Saturday night, the staff in Veldons helped to accommodate our expanded party, which included a small dog. the food was excellent, the service even better. And lovely atmosphere afterwards for a few drinks and music. We will come back...

Lovely bar food in Letterfrack, great chowder.

Lovely bar food in Letterfrack, great chowder. We visited the woodwork college and viewed wonderful work done by the students. There’s a great little book shop down behind the college with a delightful cafe in a lovely row of houses which was a Quaker village. We spent about an hour in Letterfrack National Park and could have stayed longer. It’s very well laid out and organised but do bring bug spray. The jewel in the crown has to be Kylemore Abbey. We spent hours there as did lots of other visitors and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. You will not be short of anything to do in Letterfrack. Clifden is also nearby as is Cleggan from where you get the boat to Inisbofin, a delightful island well worth a visit.

So many good places to visit if you like walking , swimming,...

So many good places to visit if you like walking , swimming, hiking. We recommend a visit to Lettergesh beach and Glassillaun (Co.Galway) beach. A little further away North (drive via Leenaun towards Louisburgh and return southwards down the coast) is a small beach called Cross Beach (or Killen Beach, depending on who you ask), where we found a many thousand year old forest and the peat it was growing in, all half-buried on the beach. There were at least fifty tree stumps and huge areas of peat, all of which get covered up again with every high-tide. An amazing and memorable visit. On another day you can visit the smaller Coral Beach beyond Clifden, where the sand is made up of billions of tiny pieces of coral and millions of tiny curious sea-shells. We also climbed Diamond Hill, at Letterfrack. A marked trail with a choice of three levels of walking difficulty, The summit of diamond hill is only a few hundred metres, but the views are amazing when you get there. A good three hour walk/hike, if you climb the hill. Shorter options available too & sign-posted.

Visited the National Park Visitor Centre - interesting...

Visited the National Park Visitor Centre - interesting buildings and delighted to watch a Dipper alongside the weir. Didn't have enough time to walk the trails but would like to next time. Easy walk up a slight incline from the village, past the Rangers office to the Visitor Centre - you don't have to walk up the road that visitors' vehicles take. Veldons was booked out with two large groups. Maybe best to book in advance. Ate in Cloverfox. Tasty food and lovely, friendly staff. Music in Veldons afterwards. Heard that the Guinness was good! Lots of amenities in the village - restaurants, pups, craft shop, large grocery, hardware shop, GMIT School of Furniture, Connemara National Park Visitor Centre. Short drive to Renvyle Beach and Kylemore Abbey.

Super location. the view from the house location is second to none. It is also possible to walk to Letterfrack Village from the house. It is just over 3km and therefore very manageable if you are used to walking. The house is a new build with all mod cons and underfloor heating, therefore it is very comfortable and warm. We also were given some Oysters to taste as this property is part of the Oyster farm - that was a nice touch. You won't taste fresher Oysters!

The cottage is actually huge, with 6 bedrooms and 2 full baths - there were 4 of us traveling together so it was amazing to each have our own room. We didn't cook so can't speak to kitchen amenities, but the living spaces were very comfortable and cozy. It is a quick, easy walk to the center of Letterfrack with several restaurant and pub options and a grocery store, and it was very easy to drive into Connemara National Park as it was right around the corner!

good parking, very nice lounge kitchen area. But the en-suite bedroom is dire. windows looking right out on to a wall and a courtyard where people pass in and out so blinds had to be down at all times . no sunshine at all giving a distinct feeling of dampness. cannot imagine what it would be like in the usual cool Irish weather. €600 for three nights was really putting the boot in as is happening in all areas of tourism in Ireland at the moment !

This accommodation is a house in an area tucked away off the main road in Letterfrack. It is unique in that it is a farm where the animals, for the most part, run free. So there might be a lamb or alpaca grazing in the front yard. Lovely place for kids. It was spacious and within a few blocks of the Connemara National Park Visitor Center. Perfect! Well appointed house with all you would need for a good stay, washer and dryer, full kitchen, etc.

This hotel was so delightful! Located on the hillside overlooking the sea, it was so adorable. We loved the old-fashioned key, there was plenty of room for our family of four, and the staff was so kind and personable! The food there was also great and they had plenty of vegan options for my husband! Not to mention, the hotel dog, Belle, who led us down the path to the beach and played endlessly with my kids.

Location was fantastic! Walkable to local pub and groceries. Very close to Connemara National Park with the best hike I’ve taken in my life, and to Kylemore Abbey. Also the house setup was ideal for families - lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, room to play outside, and visits with lots of farm animals capped it off. House was super clean and even came with a cat!

The lodge was in a wonderful location in the middle of letterfrack. The owner Janet was really helpful and kind. She even found out what time the supermarket opened for us on Easter Sunday! She gave us an old towel in case we got wet on our hike. The kitchen facilities were fab and the house is lovely and cosy. Was such a lovely stay. Thanks so much

Everything! The location was beautiful, the room was a great size and very quiet, and the staff were wonderful--very friendly and informative. Great food in the restaurant as well (we had both breakfast and dinner there). Honestly, it was the highlight of my entire trip to Ireland. I wish I could live here!

We had a lovely family stay in the cottage. The location is truly astonishing, isolated in the middle of the Connemara coast, with a private beach and easy access to walks around the area. The house is big enough for 6 adults, the kitchen is fully equipped and each room has its private bathroom.

This is our 4th stay at the cottages and they are in a fabulous location for our needs. Walking distance to shop, pubs/restaurants and connemara national park. We were travelling as more than one family group so these cottages are ideal. Lovely view from our cottage and plenty of space.
