Ballybunion is one of those small traditional Irish holiday towns. It has not changed much over the years. The main attraction is the beach (if you are not a golfer). There are a few beaches in the town, each has their own unique selling points. The Ladies (perfectly frames between two cliffs), Mens (longer walks) and Nun's beach (only accessible by rope). Each are different. There are a few pubs and restaurants and a gaming arcade which is great for kids.

The beach is well-known and popular.
The beach is well-known and popular. It's not the only local beach but it's good and Ballybunion town is good for tourists with kids. Of course golfers come here too. There are places to snack, souvenir shops and supermarket shopping etc. You don't have to stay right in town as there are plenty of good b&b's a couple of minutes drive away.

A stunning seaside experience.
A stunning seaside experience. Two lovely safe beaches, one with a little surf action. The sun sets directly in front of the castle ruin on the promontory. Typical small village with typical pubs and food options. We stayed at the Marine Hotel which was a little pricey but very good - over the road from beach access and green area. The restaurant there has a good menu with much seafood available. We found it very enjoyable.

One way street system very safe but cumbersome.
One way street system very safe but cumbersome. Parking difficult good value in the car park, 2 euro for the day. Ate in the hotel, the meal was lovely, /cocktails were all 10 euro, pricey but worth it.I was very disappointed with breakfast selection, a full irish with no egg!!!!!
Staff were lovely.
The Harty Costello guest facilities are on the floor above the restaurant, which was unfortunately closed in May. There is a communal sitting area with great photos, a comfortable breakfast room, in addition to the guest rooms that were large with a nice sitting corner. Perfect location in the center of town. The highlight was the host, Jackie, who took great care of us and told some fantastic stories about Ballybunion.
Ballybunion is such a beautiful place and with the hotel being right on the beach it was ideal. The staff are brilliant and the food was exceptional. Such comfortable beds too. The outdoor covered seating is ideal for an early morning coffee/tea or some snacks and a pint at lunch from the cafe. You won't be disappointed staying here. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious too.
Great breakfast. Very well organised, we gave our preferred time for breakfast on check-in and our table had a sign with our name and time on it. Very good covid hygiene - tables well spaced, staff wearing masks. Very friendly and welcoming. Great location near the beach. Very comfortable beds. Good water pressure in the shower. Hope to stay longer the next time.
Great little place by the beach. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect for beach and stroll through town. Swimming pool around the corner the kids absolutely loved it. Room on smaller size but this is to be expected as price of room was brilliant for its location. Very accommodating to families.
Fantastic location next to the Ballybunion Golf Course, directly opposite the driving range. The family run business was very friendly and available. Whilst we didn't eat dinner there, everyone was raving about the food. The breakfast was brilliant. I'd recommend the Oatmeal Porridge.
Beautiful B & B, impeccably maintained. Hostess Ann is absolutely lovely. Breakfast was delicious, many options and served in a beautiful sunroom. Love the location looking out to the ocean. Rooms large and comfortable. Would definitely go again, both to the town and this B&B
Everything, the location was right on the golf course, the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, the shower was amazing, the breakfast was as good as any five star hotel that we have stayed in and the hosts Mary and James were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in,
We had a Junior Suite, magnificent. The hosts James & Mary, are lovely friendly people. The breakfast was 5 star. With a comprehensive menu. We stayed for 3 nights. It is in a lovely location opposite Ballybunion golf course.
The friendly staff and exceptional service of this hotel, restaurant, and bar should be a benchmark for what every hotel needs to strive for. What a pleasant surprise. The food and beverage are also magnificent. I wish our trip would have allowed 7s to stay longer.
The B&B is nicely located and within a good walking distance of the towncenter, cliffs and beach.
Hosts are very friendly, helpfull and gave us useful advice on our trips in de area.
Our room was comfortable and spacious with a good bed.
Delicious breakfast.
The owner--Mary--was lovely and very welcoming. The B&B is in an excellent location, with close access to excellent restaurants, the beach, and the downtown area. In addition, my room had a beautiful view of the ocean.
Great location for Ballybunion golf. Nicest B&B I have ever stayed in. Huge bedroom and huge bathroom. Fabulous breakfast. David helped us with dinner reservations as well.
Great location in a quiet spot outside Ballybunion town but close enough to walk there or short spin in the car. Very nice rooms and a friendly welcome.
