Newport is a lovely quaint town close to both Westport and Achill island. A perfect base for a few days of touring the broader area. The town has a few nice restaurants and pubs, although some of the restaurants don’t open early in the week.

A really lovely short term break in a relaxed village.
A really lovely short term break in a relaxed village. Very friendly atmosphere everywhere. Riverside only about 500 metres walk into the village and a very safe walk, so you can relax in the village for the evening and prepare your trips from there. Its also a very relaxing spot in Riverside itself with lots of sit out private spots by the river on the property.

The place was probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! It was that good we try to book another night but it was fully booked (no surprise there) The staff were absolutely amazing!!! A credit to the place. The lads in the bar were great crack and made us the nicest cocktails! The hotel was spotless everywhere. Our room was incredible it even had its own coffee machine! We traveled with our little girl who is one, it was a super child friendly place. They provided us with a travel cot and came with a wee colouring sheet and crayons when we were having dinner. They even made us a pasta that was not on the kids menu. They truly went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend staying here!!!
We will be back 💯

The staff were very nice and helpful.
The staff were very nice and helpful. But there was nothing only continental breakfast available in the hotel. If they served bar food or lunch or dinner. This would keep you in the hotel for a bit more time. The area is lovely, with lots of nice places to go. Staff gave lovely recommendations for nice places to go to see and eat. Just a pity that some of this wasn’t available in the Newport hotel.
Last recommendation would be to clean the carpets in the corridors of the accommodation section.

Beautiful place. Lovely walks & cycling routes.
Beautiful place. Lovely walks & cycling routes. Great restaurants spread out great food served. We're not drinkers but the atmosphere was lovely in different locations all obiding with the Covid 19 regulations & HSE guidelines. Wasn't to far to West port town & Croagh Patrick.
Situated in the heart of Newport, Brannens was a convenient stop on my trip up the Wild Atlantic Way. The room I was given (8) was towards the rear of the building, so nice and quiet. Bed was comfy and shower very relaxing - only downside is the room only has a skylight so no views and not much natural light. Breakfast in the morning was hearty and the staff friendly. Oh, and if you are looking for great fish and chips try the Port Chipper just over the bridge!
Very nice tidy accommodation and excellenty located with a breathtaking view from the front of premesis..beautiful location overlooking the waterways and town of newport
Excellent value for money and very friendly and helpful owner
Highly recommended 👌 My partner, 5 year old child and myself stayed for 1 night and owner had a lovely gift left in room for our child (bubbles blower) ..nice touch 👌
Would definitely recommend
Location was fantastic The bus drops off just steps fro Walsh’s Bridge Inn If you are biking the Greenway the e-bike rental shops is also a few steps away. I liked that there was a grocery store almost right across the street
The food at the restaurant is excellent - in fact maybe the best in Newport Everyone at the bar made me feel welcome and the staff were so friendly.
Loved every bit of it, host was very friendly and made us feel comfortable straight away.
Lovely , cosy, friendly stay.
Very clean and welcoming , perfect personal touches and amazing breakfast .if I ever come back to Newport I will be here.
It was near the town!.. Clean house. Good size room for the 2 of us, Tea and Coffee facilities in the rooms,
Plenty of hot water for a shower
Lovely view from the bedroom.
Don't think I'd stayed there again.
Stayed in hotels for cheaper!..
This B and B was in the town of Newport just on the outskirts but in walking distance of the town. It had very good facilities and a great hostess. This was a good base for exploring some of the attractions of County Mayo.
What a beautiful hotel and location right on the river! The owner, Erica, was so welcoming and warm. The breakfast was the best in Ireland. I appreciated all the little details that made our experience there so great.
Hotel is in a prominent, central location. Easy to find. Helpful staff. It has a slightly dated feel but it's also warm and comfortable. Some hotels can feel a bit Posey and sterile but this a nice old style charm.
The rooms were large and comfortable, right on the main street in Newport. We had a comfortable night here and would stay again if in Newport. The hotel pub/restaurant had great food for dinner and breakfast.
Very clean, comfortable room, excellent location for cycling the greenway. Super breakfast - especially the homemade boxty. Staff very friendly - highly recommend Brannens for a stay in Newport
I've stayed here many times, it's a beautiful house with everything you need, supermarket next door, cafe, restaurants, hotel all nearby, gateway to the Banshees of you know where😂
Walking distance to the lovely local pub and all amenities in Newport. Margaret was a fantastic host and served a great breakfast! Well worth the value!!
