Stayed in the headfort arms for our 12 year anniversary,...
Stayed in the headfort arms for our 12 year anniversary, arrived and was given an upgrade on our room we wore delighted! (we stayed in room 2). The lady at the reception checking us in was lovely very informative and had a laugh with us, I never caught her name unfortunately. We ate in the Vanilla Pod restaurant I'm sure it was called, the food, drinks and service wore lovely. Breakfast was fast and very tasty! Downfall unfortunately for us was our sleep, the windows in the room did let alot of street noise in and possibly heat out as it did get cold even with the rad on full. The pillows in our room wore awful, 4 pillows on the bed 2 of them folded like paper and the other 2 wore like a brick, we didn't get a good nights sleep at all sadly, we also had a coffee machine with plenty of options for tea & coffee but no cups in the room to make any. Due to the lack of sleep I'm not sure I'd come back to stay which is a same as the hotel itself is fabulous.

Kells is a lovely village, made even more special by its people. Since we were there for a wedding, there was only enough time to walk its cobblestone streets. We stayed and ate at The Headfort Arms, a charming hotel with excellent food and every modern amenity. I recommend Hairitage, a beauty salon across the street from the hotel. Loved the stylists and the outcome!

Kells offers a gateway to our history but learning by visit...
Kells offers a gateway to our history but learning by visit and adventure. Today we ate, had spa treatments, visited some shops then tourist information, took photos of the major sites, drove to Loughcrew, climbed to a megalithic cairn with chambered tombs, carvings and excellent views. Then we changed, washed before going to have light bar supper which turned out to be quite a full meal then fell asleep much satisfied.
We were so delighted with this fabulous house. It was better than expected, the house is beautifully furnished and all the little detailed furnishings are really special. The owner June had kindly baked us fresh bread and cake for when we arrived and left us supplies for breakfast. The place is very peaceful and the perfect location for visiting our family in Kells. Would highly recommend and will return.
The breakfast was ok. The 2 girls working there were lovely and very helpful. The house and rooms are lovely but if you don't have a car, you are reliant on a taxi. The taxi drive into Kells is only 4 min (10€) but it is not walkable due to the layout of the roads. Lynch's taxi service was great as there was a lady driver who I felt very safe with, especially at night, when travelling as a woman on my own.
Would highly recommend a stay here, all the benefits of a hotel but with the extra benefit of a family run venue, very welcoming warm atmosphere and beautiful decor... Room was bigger than most and the hosts were so nice would definitely stay again thanks for a lovely stay ☺️
Tastefully decorated old manor home that is extremely welcoming and beautifully outfitted. Breakfast was fabulous and the room itself was large, well-appointed and cozy. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Kells!
Beautiful old hotel. Our room was beautiful however up two flights of stairs was hard on me being mobility compromised. But that was my fault for not asking for a room near the elevator.
Great location. Restaurant was great.
Owners were polite, helpful and engaging.
The common rooms are beautiful, the bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Kells, County Meath area.
We had a spacious family room which was very comfortable and warm. Lovely bathroom with good shower. Great breakfast, good sized car park. All the staff are very welcoming and warm - an ideal hotel for a visit to the area.
Lovely country setting. Nice place to stay on our way back to Dublin airport. Large comfortable room. Beautiful country roads and landscape. Nice pub for dinner in nearby Old Castle. Included Breakfast is made to order.
Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and freshly prepared. Very friendly welcome and easy access to nearby hotel for a wedding. Beautiful location too. Would definitely return if in the area.
The location was quiet, great outlook. To be honest we ate some of the breakfast the night before. We were going to the Kells road race. We had to be in there before the roads closed at 8 o'clock!!!
David and Avril are lovely hosts. Fantastic breakfast. Comfy beds and the space is pretty! David pointed us to a great pub where we thoroughly enjoyed the Trad band.
What a pleasant stay in the middle of our trip to Ireland. We had a warm welcome, complete with freshly baked warm brown bread! Everything was perfect!
