A tree-lined lane leads to Muckross Abbey, a former Franciscan monastery whose cloisters enclose a tall yew tree. Celtic crosses line the cemetery and beyond is the lake, at the centre of which is a tree-lined outcrop, home of the historic Ross Castle. This 15th-century stone fortress once housed the O’Donoghue clan, one of whom reportedly lives at the bottom of the lough.

There is so much to do in and around Killarney that your stay will not be long enough ! While some Hotels and Rental properties would seem to be somewhat expensive you can also find some which are really good value and of a good standard if you do the research !

We were very disappointed that the Killarney National Park visitor center and Ross Castle weren’t open and especially that there was no acknowledgement of that on their website. That was our main reason to visit Killarney. Understandable about due to weather, but the visitor center was due to renovations.

We had a great time.
We had a great time. Went to a Fureys concert, did the Ring of Kerry, visited the Tralee museum, had a super Indian meal, the Guinness was super. It's my 8th visit to Killarney. I'm finding the prices are getting much higher in town.

Nice dining in Killarney. Beautiful surroundings. Muckross Abbey an House are beautiful
Ring of Kerry is nice but if you dare take the Ballaghbeama Gap road. Breathtaking views. Not sure if it is doable in the summer because the road is small but I recommend it

Kilarney is such a beautiful place to visit,we love it.
Kilarney is such a beautiful place to visit,we love it. Lots of great food and accomodations available to make your trip as comfortable as can be. So many beautiful scenic areas to go. Great selection of shops and venues. Well worth going, a great variety for everyone to enjoy.
Favorite stay from our trip to Ireland! Located on a peaceful family farm 15 mins from downtown Killarney and right at the Ring of Kerry road. The pods themselves were super comfortable and equipped with everything one might need, including a fridge, kettle, coffee, tea, milk, cereal etc. In the morning, the hosts dropped by with a lovely breakfast basket with fresh bread, butter, honey and eggs (which we cooked in the common kitchen). The hosts were lovely and very responsive. We wish we could have stayed longer!
This was the 2nd time we stayed in the Fairview and I can't fault it in anyway. The location is excellent, just 2 mins walk to the town centre, our room was perfect for 3, a double and a single. We were leaving early on the Saturday before breakfast and we were accommodated as were others, we were provided with a continental breakfast which was very tasty. On Sunday we had a taste of what we missed the day before as Breakfast is excellent. A very nice hotel and the staff are very friendly they always had a smile.
Lovely hotel perfect location, food was delicious well served well priced with plenty on the plate.
Nice relaxing hotel lounge was quiet but week day in February what would you expect.
The staff where nice and welcoming, and two min walk from town centre great hotel all and all and for 86e what a brilliant bargain .
I'll be staying again summer time I could only imagine the atmosphere that time of year.
I really enjoyed my stay thanks killarney Avenue, peaceful nice two day break away couldn't ask for better.
This was our favorite hotel/B&B in Ireland. The property was lovely, the room was very nicely appointed, the bathroom was huge and looked quite new. It looked right out to the Lake. The only drawback is it's about a 5-7 minute drive to Killarney, so it wouldn't work without a car.
I just can't say enough about the beautiful setting!
Breakfast was lovely and delicious. No buffet (yea!) all table service.
The owners were very nice and friendly.
Parking was free and WiFi worked well
Nice hotel with excellent food, nice to have a bar too. Was a bit further from the town centre than I would have liked especially on rainy days. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Had a problem with a group holding a party in the room next door at 3am on the first night but that was dealt with.
This is the finest property we have had the pleasure of using during our entire vacation time on the continent, in the UK, and in Ireland. It is a 5-star facility, as is the staff and restaurant. Our room was surprisingly large and well appointed.
The hotel was very clean, breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The map and restaurant tips Emir gave us on arrival were really useful. The hotel was a 20 min walk from the town centre which was fine for us.
Great location, walking distance to great pubs, shops and restaurants, loved the fireplace in our room, breakfast was off the charts, literally the best we had in Ireland, staff was amazing and super helpful, we would 100% stay here again!
Location of hotel is excellent, short 5min stroll to town centre and also on the right side of town to drive to national park for visiting Muckross House and Torc waterfall. Staff were also very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
Great location, easy walk to the town centre. Lovely staff and very nice room. I didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast, but the setup looked great! :) I appreciated the local recommendations for dinner/ a pint.
Very well presented hotel. Made very welcome and helpful on local directions and places to go. Would highly recommend. Few miles from town centre which offers cheap parking or short taxi ride
Fantastic hotel and spa and the staff were excellent. Very much enjoyed our stay, room was better than we expected and it is very close to the town centre. Would recommend for sure!
The location was great we could walk into the town centre about 10-15 minutes. The pool was great for the kids. The price was good for what you get. Parking at the hotel is great.
Great place to stay! Breakfast was just like all other breakfast in Ireland. If you like flavor / spicy I suggest you take your own to give it some flavor. Drinks were amazing.
