Silken Thomas is a lovely place to stay for a short visit to Kildare. It is in a great location and near to Kildare Village, Japanese Gardens and The Curragh Racing Course. I would be happy to stay there again but on arrival I would check for a bath plug and no dangerous chairs.

We loved Kildare and would recommend, unfortunately it was rather wet so restricted our walking but still enjoyed. The pubs were fabulous, very friendly people, wished it was our last port of call in Ireland instead of the first as there is a huge designer outlet complex and no room to carry all the purchases I would have liked to indulge in 🤪

Lovely town, right next to Kildare outlet.
Lovely town, right next to Kildare outlet. There’s not a lot of bars and restaurants but it’s cosy and perfect for a quite night away. We stayed in the silken Thomas and ate and drank in their adjoining restaurant the food was lovely cocktails were ok. Would definitely stay again
The place was exceptionally clean, cosy and Ros was very welcoming.Very close to Kildare village just around the corner you could definitely walk. The little touches like having milk tea coffee bread and treats was unexpected but very welcome. Will be recommending to friends and family 100% great place to stay, couldn't ask for anything better.Nothing was too much for Ros she went above and beyond. Really enjoyed our stay.
A gorgeous hotel in a central location in the heart of Kildare.
All rooms are on the first floor. There is a lift, which we appreciated as we were travelling with my elderly mother-in-law.
The café underneath is lovely - very comfortable place to relax and dine.
Rooms themselves are very well decorated with a lot of care put into picking the furnishings. The deep rich teal on the walls is very luxurious.
This is a great place. We have been to 5 star hotels several times recently but this place was more pleasant ❤️Very large comfortable bed, the room was perfect and very cozy. Stayed after a day of shopping in the village of Kildare, a few minutes ’drive or 10 minutes’ walk away. in the room, a great start to the day. One of the most beautiful places we stayed. We will definitely be back here.
Property was beautiful, clean and had all the conveniences you would expect of a boutique hotel. Stunning view of St Bridget’s cathedral from our bedroom window. Our room was very cozy and the bed was so comfortable! Everyone who worked there was unbelievably helpful and accommodating. Isobel went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
I would recommend this hotel , the location was absolutely brilliant central for everything 10 mins walk from Kildare village 10 mins walk to the train station all staff were so friendly and helpful two lovely restaurants in the hotel as well
The place was easy to find especially for someone like me who’s been in Kildare for the first time. The staff are friendly and there’s a restaurant just adjacent to the hotel lobby which was very handy for quick meal. The food was lovely!
Fantastic Hotel, very plush, huge room, facilities excellent, very clean, comfy beds, very welcoming staff and food was amazing. 10 min walk to Kildare village was excellent. Free parking for Hotel guests will definitely be back.
We spent our first two nights in Ireland at ‘The Old Goat House’ and don’t let the name fool you, it is so elegant. It was perfect in every way. The garden was a dream and the friendliness with beyond anything we expected
Honestly have stayed in 5 star hotels that didn't have the same quality as Cunninghams. The room was so spacious and had everything we needed. The beds are so comfortable, proper duvets and 2 huge pillows, slept so well.
Very close to Kildare Village. Only and minute or 2 drive and 5/10 minute walk to the shopping village which was the main reason for our trip to Kildare. We had dinner in the hotel which everyone agreed was excellent.
Public parking right behind hotel was convenient and inexpensive. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable and high end, with naspresso machine and complimentary crisps and water.
Austin was incredibly friendly and was so nice to make us some delicious scones for breakfast. Very nice place with a convenient location as we were on our way from Dublin to the west of Ireland
i was so shocked by my view when i walked in with the castle and tower in the window.i am back again next week in kildare for work and i dont need a hotel but i think i might book in again.
This was such a nice hotel in a historic building. The rooms were very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and quite generous, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.
The hotel experience is really something special - the welcome, the rooms, the staff and the restaurant. Great place to unwind where focus on quality and standards is evident.
Highly recommended, the loft is cozy and really comfortable, it was super clean and the hosts were really kind. 5 minute walk from Kildare city in a very peaceful area.
