Easy instructions from Lorna to get in to property as we arrived late.Great welcome from Caroline who works there at breakfast, and we had great chats with them both. Really l nice people and we were sorry not to have met David too as he and Lorna have worked hard as a team and have a passion for what they do . The breakfast was delicious and we saw some cakes being made (premise was also a tea shop until recently) and all looked yum.. what a great location too nice and quirky and really spotless rooms . Loved the shabby chic vibe.

Biased as my family come from the area.
Biased as my family come from the area. There is plenty to explore in the area from the mines to the strand. Dursey cable car is fun and nice walking on the island The local mine museum is good for rainy days. O'Neils bar has local traditional music every Sunday and in summer occasionally on Wednesdays and Thursdays The Dursey Deli in the village does excellent fish food in the evenings mostly landed that morning off the trawlers

Loved the village, The Copper Mine Museum is a must, as is the Beara Barista and Dursey Deli. Lots of nice eateries- mainly takeout. Lots of good walking trails. Lovely and quite when we went but probably very lively during the height of the season

When we arrived the weather was atrocious, but it does not take from the beauty and majesty of the Beara Peninsula. The weather improved on the second day and the magic increased. The Copper Mine Museum is a disappointment, none of the interactive displays were working and the entry price of €6 does not represent value for money. The walks and hikes are clearly signposted as are any local attractions. Allihies is a great base from which to explore the stunning Beara peninsulaGerIreland - 10Scored 10

If you’re looking for a quiet break from a busy life in a city, Allihies is the perfect spot with its’ stunning nature surroundings, beautiful sandy beach, lots of amazing walking paths and friendly people. I’ve recharged in that part of Ireland like nowhere else. Will definitely be back there again

We had a lovely spotless and cosy room with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The host Mary made us feel very welcome and served up a fresh and generous breakfast which set us up very well for another day of travel on our trip.
