The location with access to public transporation was the main reason I chose the Victoria. I was pleasantly surprised by the facility. I liked having a restaurant with good food and service on site.
Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee.
Very little choice of places to eat or have a coffee. Tea rooms not open at 11am on Thursday as suggested. Had a fab dinner at Monks and on a return visit next morning at 1130am had great tea n scones in front of blazing stove. Superb.

The hosts were very friendly right from greeting us upon arrival and giving us tips to serving us breakfast before we left. The full Irish breakfast was very good. We had dinner before arriving in Ballyvaughan, and only stayed for one night. We had a car, so it was easy for us to drive into the town centre from there. We would stay there again. We were given tips of sites to see when we left, and one we were glad not to miss was the Poulnabrone Portal tomb.

We only were able to stay one night.
We only were able to stay one night. It was a great launch pad for visiting the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The people were friendly, the food was great and the pub was fun with local, live music!
We recommend it!

The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers.
The Clare Way is a nice way for walkers. There are at least two good places to eat out.
Some side roads are in a poor state of repair. Clare County Council need to fill the pot holes and try and keep the roads in decent repair. This includes some access routes to this property.

A beautiful traditional Irish village with all you need for a comfortable varied stay in Ireland. Situated between the stunning Burren and the cliffs off the Atlantic Ocean, and nestled on the south side of Galway Bay, Ballyvaughan is ideally located. There are a lot of places to visit in the area. You can swim in the bay or on the nearby Bishop's Quarter beach. In Summer or Winter there are lovely places to visit and in Ballyvaughan alone, the fabulous Monk's seafood restaurant is a great spot with super friendly staff, a warm welcome and really fabulous food. I cannot wait to go back to Ballyvaughan!

there was a Match-making Festival happening in September in nearby villages of west of ireland, named biggest party for singles in the world. this was the best accommodation in terms of crowd-avoidance and distance from local attractions. we could have stayed little longer...
This was our first visit to Ireland and we couldn’t have expected a warmer welcome or wished for a nicer place to stay than with our hosts Pauline and Gerry at the Ballyvaughan Lodge.
It felt as if we were staying with friends. These are warm people (with an excellent sense of humour by the way).
Other reviewers mention the excellent breakfast, the clean and nicely decorated rooms, and the nice location. It’s all true.
But it’s the hosts, who really go out of their way to help and care who made this a wonderful stay.
Very friendly reception. The landlady is cordial and willing to provide information. The rooms were spacious, clean and in a quiet location on the Cliffs of Moher.
The house is almost in the center of the village. Sea, restaurants and harbor are within very short walking distance. A grocery store for shopping is only 50 meters away.
Breakfast was extensive and very good.
We would try again to book this accommodation on a renewed trip to this place.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely clean room. Very nice & friendly owner. The room was as good as a hotel's and better than most. Nice and quiet with no noisy revellers shouting at 3am like I've often experienced in the best of hotels. Very close to the town so very handy to get to Ballyvaughan town centre. Would highly recommend.
Breakfast was fabulous, room was comfortable but it's location in the middle of the Burren was unparalleled. Beautiful setting and warm hospitality, rustic location makes you feel that you are experiencing Ireland as it was meant to be experienced. We are planning our return to Waters House as soon as we can make plans.
I like the fact that parking was available on the back of property. It may be different during peak season.
Since I recently twisted my ankle and not so mobile, I was grateful the lodge had a lift. Room 10 is right next to the lift and comfortable. Plus the lodge had a bar and restaurant.
Perfect stay with excellent value! The most welcoming host, Karen accommodated our late check in and gave us good information for our road trip. Breakfast was fantastic! It was our favorite accomodation on a 5 day trip in Ireland. Would definitely go back!
incredibly well set up for family stay, great garden with lovely light sun room on the back of the cottage. Local amenities all in walking distance. Perfect location for visiting all the best sites on the Wild Atlantic route. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely stay in Ballyvaughan. Never been before so really enjoyed it. Its a beautiful location and very relaxing. The hotel has an outside seating area which was ideally located to enjoy the evening sun.
We had a gorgeous stay at Ballyvaughan. Gerry and his wife were really welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. The lodge is beautifully presented and maintained. We would definitely stay again.
Such an amazing hotel, lovely staff and comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our stay here and we will most definitely be back again. Beautiful location just beside the sea and sitting on the Burren.
The rooms! I always go for hotel over bnb type places and I was afraid that this was going to be like that, but it’s definitely a hotel! And still has a nice Irish lodge touch 😊
We really enjoyed our stay here - our hosts were so kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Excellent location close to Ballyvaughan. Highly recommend.
Very kind owners.
Breakfast very good!
Room 8 spacious with beautifull view.
Location near Ballyvaughan with nice pub Fountain bar, good diner and Live music!
This was our favorite B&B in Ireland! Mary is so charming! We loved her cooking and her house is clean and comfortable. I definitely recommend staying here.
