Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do.
Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do. It's an area where you need your own transport to get around efficiently. Also traffic in village chaotic and parking in the village is inadequate. Nevertheless it is still a nice area to stay in and visit. We do hope to go back in the near future.

From the minute we arrived at the gate to the property, Francis appeared with her smiling face and welcomed us to Meadowbrook. It was lovely to get such a personal welcome while following all social distance guidelines..Francis had thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The personalized welcome note and chocolates were a lovely surprise. The property is in a perfect location for exploring the wonderful Wicklow scenery and Francis was very helpful with directions .The homemade treats delivered to the doorstep were a big treat, especially after a long day sightseeing. The families 2 dogs are friendly and very quiet and add to the homely atmosphere of the property.I hope to return to Meadowbrook and stay a little longer next time..
If there were awards for Hostess 's Francis would win First Prize for her hospitality and property.

Fairly centrally located for visiting historical attractions...
Fairly centrally located for visiting historical attractions, or the coast. Not a big choice in eating establishments, but what they had was good. Would highly recommend “Bates” restaurant, down a charming alley. Sadly, “Avondale House”, a local attraction was closed for renovations. Do visit Glendalough!

Rathdrum is a great place to have a great time outdoors,...
Rathdrum is a great place to have a great time outdoors, with a multitude of popular outdoor sites (hikes, walks, lakes and forest trails). Unlike Glendalough, which seemed quite crowded and touristy on the long weekend, Rathdrum, situated just 15 km away, was peaceful (without being lonely). We encountered a number of cyclists on the road between Rathdrum and Glendalough, which reveals its popularity. An added bonus for us was the accessibility by train, although there are only 3 daily train services to/from Dublin on holidays, and the one we took on our way there was quite crowded - we were lucky to get a seat, while many others were not.
Fantastic accommodation.... Shelley was so welcoming and friendly....the room was spotless and so comfortable, but the best thing about our stay just had to be the breakfast, cooked to order, freshly percoulated coffee, everything piping hot...top marks for an excellent stay, we would highly recommend The Glenbeg Lodge to anyone looking for great value accommodation in Rathdrum...we will definitely stay again when we next visit the area
Smalll but superbly equipped and well- designed studio in owner’s garden. Fantastic array of food provided for breakfast/ snacks and scones appeared in the afternoon! Very clean and well- maintained. Everything you needed was there. Frances was pleasant and helpful with local information.
Ideal location for exploring the Wicklow Mountains area.
Tom was friendly and helpful on our arrival, giving us a quick tour of the apartment. The location was good with lots to do in the local area and a good sized shop located just down the road in Rathdrum. It was an excellent base to climb Lugnaquilla (the highest peak in the Wicklow mountains).
Friendly, organized check-in with breakfast options (made to order). exceptionally cute and clean. A darling electric fireplace for ambiance and to take the chill out. It was a cute area with a couple of bar/restaurant within walking distance. Close to Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains.
We had the wonderful little apartment for three days. Everything was perfect, and we instantly felt like we were home. The host even prepared some scones, bread, marmalade, and other goods for us. If you want to visit the Wicklow mountains, I highly recommend you stay in this apartment!
Stayed for one night with my 2 children. Beautiful and comfy stay and very close to Rathdrum and Avondale. Kids were able to play in the garden and had a wide selection of foods for breakfast. First time staying at a b&b and was delighted at our choice. Ann made us feel very welcome.
Quiet apartment at the back of Lettermore Country House, with terrace and garden. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Well stocked, and everything provided for breakfast. Good location for Glendalough and Wicklow mountains if you have a car.
The best value in the Glendalough Valley. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, & cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great location to get to Glendalough or Wicklow. Breakfast was hearty & tasty (good choices).
Spotless, comfortable, modern apartment. Ann couldn't have been more helpful and obliging. Lovely treats left on arrival. Great location, quiet but central to alot of Wicklows scenic walks etc.
Very friendly hostess, delicious breakfast, pretty easy street parking nearby, great value for a comfortable room, and only a 15 minute drive to Glendalough. Would definitely stay here again!
Daphne could not do enough. Excellent accommodation. Fantastic, varied choice of breakfast. Tips on places to visit and local knowledge. Rathdrum excelente location for touring Wicklow.
We loved the location and getting to see a bit of the real Ireland. The apartment was incredible and the apartment was so big. I only wish we had more time to spend there.
