The house was very clean and inviting. The view out the back windows was just beautiful of the mountains. Erica made us feel welcomed right away. Our room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. There is a tasty and fun restaurant 1 minute walk from the house. The access to the hiking trails and sites are just minutes up the road and should not be missed. We liked the fact that the Rathdrum was situated in a nice quiet even remote area of Wicklow but yet not far from Wicklow town. The hosts were nice, very helpful and the breakfast was ample. I cannot comment on the main house we were only in the breakfast room as we were in the log cabin at the rear. I would recommend the Rathdrum for a nice quiet stay in the countryside.

Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do.

Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do. It's an area where you need your own transport to get around efficiently. Also traffic in village chaotic and parking in the village is inadequate. Nevertheless it is still a nice area to stay in and visit. We do hope to go back in the near future.

From the minute we arrived at the gate to the property, Francis appeared with her smiling face and welcomed us to Meadowbrook. It was lovely to get such a personal welcome while following all social distance guidelines..Francis had thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The personalized welcome note and chocolates were a lovely surprise. The property is in a perfect location for exploring the wonderful Wicklow scenery and Francis was very helpful with directions .The homemade treats delivered to the doorstep were a big treat, especially after a long day sightseeing. The families 2 dogs are friendly and very quiet and add to the homely atmosphere of the property.I hope to return to Meadowbrook and stay a little longer next time.. If there were awards for Hostess 's Francis would win First Prize for her hospitality and property.

Fairly centrally located for visiting historical attractions, or the coast. Not a big choice in eating establishments, but what they had was good. Would highly recommend “Bates” restaurant, down a charming alley. Sadly, “Avondale House”, a local attraction was closed for renovations. Do visit Glendalough!

Rathdrum is a great place to have a great time outdoors,...

Rathdrum is a great place to have a great time outdoors, with a multitude of popular outdoor sites (hikes, walks, lakes and forest trails). Unlike Glendalough, which seemed quite crowded and touristy on the long weekend, Rathdrum, situated just 15 km away, was peaceful (without being lonely). We encountered a number of cyclists on the road between Rathdrum and Glendalough, which reveals its popularity. An added bonus for us was the accessibility by train, although there are only 3 daily train services to/from Dublin on holidays, and the one we took on our way there was quite crowded - we were lucky to get a seat, while many others were not.

Daphne was so helpful and flexible. The B & B is really lovely and we were very comfortable. Plenty of space. Very clean. Easy to find. She is not too far from Glendalough and there was parking in the rear. The breakfast was our favorite during our week long stay in Ireland. We had some special requests and she was good enough to work with us. My husband wants me to email her and request the recipe for her porridge. She gave us suggestions for where to eat dinner, etc. She was very friendly and made our stay a great memory.

The apartment is amazing, I'd even argue it's better to book as a group of people rather than just 2 like we did. Enough space to comfortably fit 4-5 people. Good facilities - fully functional kitchen, TV, broad selection of movies to watch if weather is messy. Bathroom on high standard and the living room is massive. Location is grand as it's in the middle of Wicklow and only few minutes away from some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen in all of Ireland.

Jacobs well hotel is an amazing location. Great value for money and is in a great location to get to other activities in wicklow. The two young staff members working on Saturday the 2nd of september, serving evening meals, provided great service and we're very helpful. Morning staff serving breakfast were also very friendly and attentive. We would recommend this location to anyone. Brilliant hidden gem in wicklow.

A hidden gem in Rathdrum, this is a relaxing and very attractive establishment to spend your evenings while exploring the natural, spiritual, and historical areas of Glendelough by day. The room is cheerful and of a fine quality as is a lavish chic breakfast which reflects the care and good taste with attention to detail by the kind owners. Thank you!!!

Very cozy B&B with tasteful interieur and a lovely back garden. Daphne is very friendly and you can see everywhere that she puts her heart into this B&B. The rooms were spacious and very clean.
