Gougane Barra Hotel, hotel in Dunmanway

With a beautiful lakeside location in the West Cork Mountains, Gougane Barra Hotel boasts rooms with stunning lake and mountain views.

This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, whether in Ireland or abroad. The location was magical and ethereal, the food was fabulous, the staff was so welcoming. I booked a single room and when I arrived I found I had been upgraded to a double room with a lake view. I will definitely be back.

Lovely quite area, very short walk to the town. We had a most comfortable stay. The bed was really comfortable, the room was spacious, with water, teas, coffee all available in the room. A superb place where to stay, both due to the setting and comfort but also due to the friendliness and cordiality provided by Susann. We enjoyed our stay in the house with amazing breakfasts and the delicious baking from Susann. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds really comfy. We will definitely consider booking again as Dunmanway is a good place where to stay and have many different attractions from West Cork and Kerry at a short drive.

Easy to get to, just south of the city centre. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely bath tub in the bathroom (which sadly I didn't have time to use). The hotel has a nice pub just downstairs, which had very lively feeling during my stay. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and filling.

The property was exceptional and our host Susan so welcoming. It felt more like a small hotel rather than a traditional b and b. I would recommend it to anyone traveling in the west Cork area as it was a good base to see the area.

The Hotel was nice but dated. The room was good with a nice hot shower, no bath in the room. All staff were very friendly. Food was great.
