This is a cosy, compact and very comfortable cabin with everything you could need including milk, juice, tea, coffee, sugar and cereals. Also toiletries. The view over the lake and hills is lovely, even on a dull day. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Deirdre who had made sure the cabin was warm when we arrived on a miserable day. The only cooking facility is a microwave but there are a few places to eat in Macroom which are listed in a helpful folder in the cabin.
Overlooking the scenic Macroom sea and countryside, Fountain House B&B is situated beside the River Lee and offers home baking and evening meals. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.

Beautiful setting, well-appointed with everything we needed. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is very beautiful. If it had not been raining we would have enjoyed sitting out on the decking with the wonderful views of the lake.

Just stayed on the hotel for one night - hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were really pleasant and breakfast was good. Bar Food was finished by 8.15pm which was a minor disappointment as we were late arrivals (arrived before 8.30pm)...but overall no issues with the accommodation.

Excellent gateway to west Cork and a destination in its own right by the Castle remnants of the MacCarthy Muskerry Lords of Gaelic Ireland, and along the Banks of the Sulán River. Perfect for visiting peaceful, stunning Gougane Barra, Máigh Cromtha, land of the Caoineadh Art O Laoghaire has it going on, nice cafe by Castle market gates too, also the nearby Ghaorthaidh , the only alluvial "drowned" forest in Europe , Paddy Hodnett the whiskey coinneuseur worth a shout into if travelling onto Inchydoney and the Clonakilty Distillery

As for pubs we went to goldens both nights as recommended by our taxi driver John Casey. Fantastic pub, friendly and fasinating decor. Friendly staff and locals.
We stayed at the loft, a little beautiful b&b, but a little far out of macroom so we used a great local Taxi, we used was Casey's taxis, reluable and very friendly.

Only went in to Macroom to eat, had dinner in the Castle Hotel and it was great. It was recommended by one of the staff where we were staying, outside Macroom, and it was well signposted once we got into Macroom. The car park in the Castle Hotel was a little tight though.

Very nice location for our few nights, good place to stay with lots of nice day trip to take from here. We had dinner one night in Granvilles which was the best meal of our whole trip to Ireland, highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay in Macroom at this B&B. This B&B is in a very tranquil setting and our studio cottage was very clean and had a magnificent view of the lake below. The kitchenette was stocked with tea, coffee, cereal, juice, milk and some sundry items for our enjoyment. Deirdre, the property owner, sent us directions via whatsapp and also made suggestions for restaurants. We wish we had planned to stay more than one night. Would love to go back sometime! Thank you, Deirdre, for the wonderful hospitality!
A really beautiful place to stay in an elevated location overlooking The Gearagh in Macroom. The attention to detail in the accomodation and the design / build & finish of Blossom Lodge was very high. Although we brought some food for breakfast, it was wonderful to see the generous heart & spirit of the owners as seen in the provision of unexpected food items & bathroom toiletries. No hesitation in recommending the place to others. One night stay was too short ! Thanks & best wishes from D&G.
First cross county trip since recent lockdown restrictions lifted so a bit nervous stepping out again. However, every possible safety measure in place and the friendly welcome and chat with all staff was not lost behind the necessary face masks and safety measures, good to see young staff enjoy their workplace as much as the team in the Castle Hotel. Food choices excellent again as was the service. Quiet location at night so plenty of quality sleep and rest for touring around west Cork.
A prefect stay 😍... we went there as part of our honeymoon and it was just our best stay yet in Ireland. Deidre and Thomas go out of their way to make it comfortable for their guests. We stayed at the loft and the views are breathtaking. The little kitchenette is stocked with everything you will need for breakfast. Definitely going to visit again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a quaint stay 😀
The Cannaway House is quite remote but worth the effort to get there. It's an elegant estate on a horse farm about 30 minutes from Cork with gorgeous views of the Irish landscape. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choices, served in a beautiful room on the ground floor. Our room was in the back, overlooking rolling green fields and the stay was very relaxing.
A one-bedroom house (renovated lodge) with a well-equiped kitchen. The outside seating areas and parking spaces made it feel very spacious. In a very quiet location, close to the main Macroom-Cork road, and less than 15 minutes by car from Macroom. It is also a short drive to Farran Forest Park and Coachford Greenway (Inniscara Lake).
Beautiful setting with horses in your backyard! The Irish breakfast was great. Short drive to Macroom for dinner or to Cork and Cohb for a day of sightseeing. The morning breakfast team was very friendly and professional. The owner was so nice at checkout and explained the history of the house. Nice guy.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and comfortable and the meals were wonderful. We had to stay an extra night here due to Storm Barra and feel really fortunate that we were in this hotel at the time.
Very friendly staff and country location beside the river Lee. Macroom is a couple of miles away with good restaurants, pubs and shops. The surrounding countryside is very scenic with Killarney about 45 minutes away by car.
Friendly and plenty of space and surroundings. A welcome break from thel hotels I normally book. Everything needed. WiFi. Ensuite private room. Solid breakfast. Parking. Loved the surroundings.
A beautiful peaceful property, very friendly and helpful owners , beautiful rooms and stunning grounds. Close to amenities in Macroom. Highly recommend.
