A gem in the centre of the vibrant town of Listowel. The room and the hotel facilities were are a modernized version of a traditional grand hotel. The building had a sense of history, situated on the town square and backing on to the River Feale, close to the river path and Greenway.

Extremely comfortable bed, huge room, fantastic view of town and ocean. Bathroom was spacious, and very clean. The hotel is in a prime location, close to the beach and town. The staff was friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Breakfasts were varied and very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay and will stay here again next time we're in Kilkee.

Lot's of local history and just a 20 minute drive to the beach in Ballybunion. We also took the ferry from Tarbert to visit Co Clare on one of our days. We spent one day in Killarney National park this was our longest journey at just over an hour. To sum up Ballylongford is a good place to stay, a good location if you don't mind a bit of driving.FergusIreland - 6.0Scored 6.0

The Castle is quite interesting. It is a strong stone tower construction that you can access on your own and climb a spiral stair up to the top floor. On a nice day the view to the surrounding wetland should be interesting (it raíned when I visited ...)

Garrett and Patricia have a lovely b&b in a beautiful peaceful country location. You can walk to the castle that you see from their home and explore it for free. You get a warm Irish welcome from them when you arrive and throughout your stay. The evening meal was a very satisfying home cooked three course meal and the full Irish cooked breakfast really hit the spot. True Irish hospitality!TammieCanada

No view to speak of from my room at the rear of the house, but the immediate vicinity is fantastic and the causeway approach adds to the sense of welcome isolation. Breakfast was delicious. It's a working dairy farm so we were able to watch the cows and Mary patiently answered all of our "dairy farm" questions. We chose this because it was near the ferry that took up to the Cliffs of Moher. Easy trip to the Ferry- easy trip to the Cliffs and surrounding area.
